A Walk in the Neighborhood, April 15, 2012

I found this poor fella in the road when I went for a walk in my neighborhood about a week ago.   Just around the corner from where I found the squished snake, I had previously seen two owls in a tree top and about another block away from that, I've seen a hawk atop a telephone pole.   I suspect that if a car had not killed the little snake, the birds most likely would have!  Cars, birds, civilization....  He was doomed any way you look at it!



I reached down and touched the brick street when I snapped the pic just for a perspective of size.
