if I can reach the stars, pull one down for you...

god, what a simply wonderful birthday. I am so lucky to have my life, so lucky that there is so much in it that is just beautiful and wonderful, and...and...gush gush gush gush gush [yes, I'm gushing, and it's just too bad that you're not here to catch it on camera, because it's a rare occurance, much like a bigfoot sighting, and likely worth money].

woke up at a ridiculously early hour after having spent most of last night reading Basset and then dreaming of magic and whimsy so that I could go to panera for breakfast with sara and frodo. then dropped frodo off at school, played on the playground, went to the duck pond and took photos and walked and talked, tried on corsets and went to moxley's with sara. exciting life I lead in bel air, I know. I hope I do not bore the friends that I have. but still, it is wonderful to be with my home friends.

deposited sara at home so that she could go to work [late, oops] and returned home to open the packages that have been sitting upon my desk for many days begging for opening, namely a lovely present from sarahhh and, the most persistant of all in begging to be opened, the long-awaited, legendary birthday mix of alex janosek doyle, which was well worth waiting for and absolutely, absolutely lovely...=].

off to the barn for a trail ride, then home and into the shower.

and just as I got out of the shower, the doorbell rang. I, wrapped in a towel, simply hoped that I had made it up, but nay, it rang again. so I went downstairs in my towel and looked out the window. on my porch, turned away from the window, is a random blonde chic. and I am confused. and I am certainly not going to answer the door wearing nothing but a towel when a random blonde chic is standing outside. so I ran upstairs and attempted to throw on clothes as quickly as possible, as r.b.c. was already looking puzzled while standing there on the doorstep, and ran back downstairs to open the door.

...and it was michele, my best friend who moved to alaska and who I haven't seen in what? two years? now that, sirs, is an awesome surprise! and also a very amusing scenario, I must say. goodness, I have missed that girl so much...having her in town for the next three weeks will be fantastic! I am tres thrilled.

michele stayed for a bit to catch up [she is so as fun as ever] and then had to run, for her mother feared the closing of rite aid [open 24 hours] and that she would not be able to buy things on the way home.

shortly thereafter sara and frodo reappeared on the scene to kidnap me for slurpees and wish me happy birthday once more.

an excellent day indeed. full of magic and happiness that I can't really explain. I may be overly sentimental - it's a distinct possibility. but no matter. today I felt very, very special.

michele, sarah, sara and frodo, whimsy, alex, love
