Keeping busy

So it’s been a busy week. I’ve had lots of interpreting work, definitely a good thing. I just got done sending in all of my invoices to the agency I contract with and I’m bringing in more then I was at my previous job, by a lot. The agency I’ve been working with has been great! I’m really happy about the whole situation. There is one thing, I work really strange hours. The other day I was up at 4:00 AM to be at an assignment at 6:00, other days I don’t have to be anywhere until 2:00. It does mean that I don’t see Joe as often as I like, because we don’t have the same schedules any more.

I’m almost fully recovered from the surgery that removed my wisdom teeth. I have also found my glasses. The moment I found them I remembered what had actually happened. When I got back from the dentist I crashed on the living room couch and I was wearing my glasses. I didn’t want to fall asleep with my glasses on, and to lay my glasses on the end table at the foot of the couch seemed as if it require the energy of a marathon, so I decided that sliding my glasses underneath the couch would be a perfect remedy to the problem. However when I awoke later I didn’t remember my brilliant plan. Fortunately I lose the remote on a frequent basis, and I eventually found my glasses.

So for the past several months, or actually since Joe and I have gotten got married I’ve been trying to incorporate healthier eating habits and more exercise in our schedule, and   in particularly encouraging (nagging might be used instead of encouraging on some occasions) Joe to want to eat healthier and be more active. Finally it’s like a switch turned on or something, and he’s been making changes himself by being more active and choosing healthier foods. I’m really excited about this change. I’m also proud of it, when I first met him, he thought that Doritos, Dr. Pepper, Skittles, and  Chef Boyardee were there own food group.

Not much else going on in my life… I signed up to be on a committee for NJRID (New Jersey Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) to help plan an event that is taking place in March. This is just an avenue to meet colleagues and other people in my field. Although with the planning part of it feels like being back in college and planning events for SGA, or the interpreting club. My responsibility for this committee is to call up companies and ask for donations for goodie bags we’re putting together for the event. I definitely have experience in that.
