So today I turned down perfectly good interpreting work to get my upper two wisdom teeth ripped out of my head.. "Ripped" is probably a strong word. But anywho- got to the doctors/dentist office this morning filled out the appropriate paper work you know the reassuring paper work that states " might cause brain damage or death from procedure". They hooked me up to an IV, the doctor injected some medicine into my IV and said " You'll start feeling the medicine in 20-30 seconds".
15 seconds later I was out like a light, the next thing I remember was that my husband was in the room and the procedure was over. From there to the apartment everything else was a blur. Joe and a nurse helped me out to the car. I went home and crashed and when I awoke somewhere along the way I lost my glasses.
I still can't find my glasses. Joe said he gave them to me after the surgery. But I don't remember. Fortunately I have contacts that I can wear for the next couple of months until I find my glasses, or get them replaced. The dentist office said they didn’t have them.
On top of losing my glasses, my face hurt like someone ran it over. Speaking hurts. chewing hurts, licking my lips hurts. Smiling hurts, frowning hurts. It all hurts. the good news is that my doctor gave me some really good pain medication. Right now I’m not in a lot of pain, but with out the painkillers- yikes it would be bad. I don’t know how people went through medical procedures with out pain killers.
So for the next several days I will be on a diet that consists of Jell-o, pudding, ice cream, and probably some mashed potatoes .
