apparently alcohol makes everything better now! damn cmu education. a hot, sweaty hip hop club full of skanky foreigners was actually tolerable after i had a couple of tsingtaos. yikes. i distinctly remember pointing at someone's t-shirt and saying "technics!" with glee, but nothing sketchy really happened except gross people kept making eye contact with me. speaking of which, it is incredibly awesome to be able to buy liquor - but that doesn't mean i've been drinking like crazy, since i'm not that kind of girl. i also found money that had been dropped by the bar and it essentially made up for the cost of the night, cabs included.
today i am very tired. i spent two hours on the telephone - with my mom, monkey & erick. monkey is and has always been a slacker, but a couple of weeks ago we discovered that he was in danger of being kept back because he never does his homework. he has reformed, now, but my mom, who has never had to deal with slacker children before, doesn't know what to do with him and is threatening to send him to an AWFUL afterschool program. one in which he has suffered emotional and physical abuse - and i don't think i am exaggerating or he is exaggerating, since i know those fuckers. my darling little monkey said, "you gotta talk to her! you're the only one i trust!" in such the sweetest little voice.
i am worried about my old lady, since i tried to call her, only to discover that the phone line has been disconnected.
erick and i have decided to go to spain over spring break. just like that. apparently europe is cheap for americans over spring break since all the americans go to florida and mexico... and of course, once he starts talking with a lishp, he'll be fluent in castillian spanish. i will have to learn some spanish after my summer of chinese studies.
