What the…? What on Earth is going on? Oh, goodness gracious where am I?
[There's the sound of frantic pacing, and then a small, rather unmanly shriek as Nathaniel looks through the porthole.]
A ship? A ship? I don't remember getting on a ship! And I certainly wasn't drunk last night, so this can't be some sort of awful mistake… Oh Lord! Have I been

We do appear to be stuck here whether we like it or not, though. Welcome aboard the elegante~

Thank you, miss, though I fear that 'welcome' may not be the right word. One hears such terrible tales of what kidnap victims suffer, and from what you say I cannot help but feel this will be no exception. True, this is a lovely enough room, but I hardly fancy being trapped here for... for however long we are to be kept.

[She cringes at being called 'miss', ugh. She has a gentleman here, apparently...]
My name's Sarea, Rea for short. How about you, new guy?

Ah, forgive me for not introducing myself, Miss Sarea. Nathaniel Ireton, utterly at your service.
[Nathaniel is somewhat surprised by how smoothly that came out. Clearly not being overwhelmed by looking at a woman makes it easier to talk to the fairer sex.]

[The lycan takes a deep breath before she begins explaining. Here's hoping he doesn't flip...]
People aren't just from different countries here, they're from different worlds and times. For instance, somehow I doubt you and I are from the same time period, with how you talk; the year's 2009. Annnd it seems that people back home don't notice; it's like time stops when we leave, apparently.
[She cringes at the 'miss' again.]
No miss; just Sarea. I hate that formal crap. Nathaniel, eh? Y'mind being called 'Nate'?

Miss-- uh, Sarea... these notions seem quite unbelievable. I must make clear that I understand if you are somewhat confused after all that has happened to you... but you must try to hold onto what is real.

[The lycan takes a moment to process what he's said, growling under her breath. Oh no, he did not just insinuate that she was insane! She takes a deep breath, not wanting to let herself maul the man verbally.]
Listen, Nathaniel, things on this boat are not normal. You'll learn that for yourself soon. Don't believe me if you don't want to, but what I say is the truth, and it is real. You'd best lose that ideal that women are weaker both physically and mentally if you don't want to make enemies here.

I--I--I... oh, miss Searea, I can't apologize enough! I never, ever meant to offend, and I never thought to--to demean you in any way. It was just that what you said seemed so incomprihensible... By God, you say you are from roughly a century in the future!
A-a-and Nate is fine if... if you prefer.
[There's a pretty heavy undertone of please-don't-kill-me through the whole speech.]

[Siiiiiiigh. She's not going to hurt you, Nate, chill. She just hates your attitude at the moment.]
A lot of things that might seem impossible happen on this boat, so what I say is true. Just keep that in mind and don't go looking for trouble.
