I was encouraged to post this here by evidux. My apologies if it's not appropriate.

I don't even care about the porn. Harry didn't look underage to me, however, I can see why other people would think that he might be based upon what happens in Book 7. I'm upset about the the pro-ana communities, lack of customer service and LJ failing to take the actions that they said they would.

The smart thing to do, aside from listening to their users, would to be create clear, cut and dry in black and white language, about what they will allow and what they will not allow. I understand that they want to leave some leeway but I don't think that they. They need to allow for AU fics, characters that are older than they appear in the canon, etc.

I do hope that they get enough comments that they actually look into it. I can hope right?

My e-mail to them:

I don't know if your organization can do anything. I hope that you can.

I belong to LiveJournal, a journaling site that is owned by Six Apart. Recently, several users have started to report and complain about some of the communities that they host on their site. These communities support the pro-anorexia lifestyle.

For example, this post here (http://community.livejournal.com/proanorexia/47176758.html):

what to do?
i have a HARDCORE hunger headache and im dizzy.
haven't eaten in 56 hours and i don't want to eat.
besides eating what should i do to lower symptoms,
besides sleeping.

should i take an aspirin or something?

The sad part of this is, that instead of other people encouraging this person to eat, they give her suggestions so that she won't feel so bad. This is not the only community out there.

Members have reported this community. I give you the link (http://i11.tinypic.com/534limq). The user was told, by LJ Abuse, that pro-anorexia communities did more good than bad. This is never the case with pro-Ana groups that tell people how they can continue to not eat. Other users have reported them directly to an LJ Staff member (user: coffeechicka) only to be told that it wasn't her problem. Any people who complaints should take them to LJ Abuse and many users have. However, despite the many complaints and reports, these communities still remain.

I'm not sure at whether or not LiveJournal appreciates how severe eating disorders are. They cause harm but they are allowed to remain. I sincerely hope that this wonderful organization can do something. I at least hope that you can look into it.

Thank you.

Edit: I believe I was mistaken. ed_recovery does not appear to be a pro-ana group. Weight_issues still looks iffy to me.

Son of Edit: OMG! I am so sorry about the spoilers ya'll. I didn't even realize it until they were pointed out. I'm so sorry.
