I really liked the explanation for his shirt being worn inside out. It makes perfect sense!

But NOT ANTHEA DEAD! :-(

Also, you and your obsession with cutting Sherlock's hair! I giggled at that. Hehe.

Yeah, I felt terribly guilty for killing Anthea off, making her death just one more move in the game, but the story demanded it.

Also, MOI? I do not have an obsession with cutting Sherlock's hair! If you look at this story and "Bricoleur" closely, you'll see that BOTH times, it is Sherlock's idea and purely for case-related purposes. (Though isn't it so much nicer when it's a little shorter? And redder?)

(I'll also confess that I wondered if you'd call me on the haircutting theme. Ha! Can't get anything by you, I see.)

I'm really enjoying this so far! I like your refreshingly novel take on The Final Problem, and it makes more sense to me that Sherlock is forced into his Hiatus by Moriarty's observant, malevolent presence, rather than "the rest of his network." I can't say I'm enjoying the split between the brothers, but I will trust you, having come this far. Kudos, also, for John's input on solving these "cases"...I really enjoyed botanist!John. :)

John-his-mother's-son is a particular favorite of mine, and it's nice to see his areas of expertise brought into play. The split between the brothers was one of the first ideas that generated this story - I was trying to figure out what a BBC hiatus story could do that would be different from all of the innumerable ACD hiatus stories, and it suddenly struck me that in BBC, Sherlock would not need to rely on Mycroft for money and, more importantly, for information about John. If he had surveillance on John, Mycroft would no longer have to be Sherlock's sole confidant, which meant that I could write Sherlock as being entirely alone. It also, serendipitously, freed up Mycroft to forge an independent friendship with John.

And I'm pleased that keeping Moriarty around made sense to you too! The whole "Moran is super-dangerous" thing that Holmes floats in canon never seemed particularly credible to me.
