News and HP OotP cast
I was horrified this morning when listening to the news and they said the following:
Drug smugglers were caught surgically implanting packets of heroine into puppies to sneak across the border. Three (I think) of the puppies died. That's just sick and wrong in all the ways you can be sick and wrong! Urgh!
So, Luna has been cast for OotP. I love Luna. She's one of my very favorite characters, second only to Harry himself! H/Hr is my OTP, but I wouldn't mind H/L either. H/L has some very interesting dynamics to it, and has the potential of being super sweet. So, you can be sure that JKR won't write it. Although, I understand that DR made some major vehement waves in the H/G communities when he said that he liked H/L too.
Anyway, I think that Evanna Lynch looks like Luna (not exactly how I'd pictured, but fairly close, as the other actors are) so I'm pleased with that casting. The other cast announcements, don't really look at all like I'd pictured the characters, but I'll reserve judgment till I see them in costume. Nothing can disappoint me as much as Lupin's cast though, so I don't really care much.
As OotP is my absolute favorite of the series, I will probably go see the film, so I hope that it's a fairly good adaptation and not filled with thrown in characterizations and foreshadowing of film six, trying to make up where the books went wrong. Either way, I'm sure that Ginny is going to annoy me to no end. I also hope they don't ruin Cho's sweet character; I just absolutely adored her in film four. Time shall tell. [/rambling]
