CENTAURS ARE LOVE
Oh, here's something I forgot to mention.
Equus. (No, not the play. I mean the manga by Est Em.) SOMEONE IS SCANLATING EQUUS. So it's only the first chapter that has been released so far but whatever, it's happening. BRING ON THE CENTAUR PORN. (I know this sounds so wrong but I don't even care.) In any case, Est Em's work is BEAUTIFUL. Such a distinctive and expressive style, the faces... THE EYES AND MOUTHS, I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE IT. I think it's the fact that the lines are clean and at first glance simple but so confident and just overflowing with both elegance and LIFE. I'm going to have to post some examples, actually, avoiding spoilers and porn. (I haven't read all of Est Em's output as of yet, so I'll go for Gallop, which also features centaurs and is CUTE AS.)

Because so far there's only the first 16-page part of Gallop to go on (as far as scanlations are concerned) I am going to stop there even though I kind of WANT TO POST ALL OF IT AND FLAIL ABOUT HOW ADORABLE THE CENTAUR AND HIS COWORKER ARE (AND HOW OF COURSE I SHIP THEM) because otherwise there'll be nothing left if you want to go and take a look at it for yourselves (and you do, right?).
So for something more stylised, some art from the one-shot Carmen.
I am in awe of how so much can be said with so little in her art, seriously.
It looks even better full-size.
So I really do recommend Gallop. To anyone, actually.
I found it cute and laugh out loud amusing, and surprisingly easy to buy into for something that concerns itself with a centaur working in Tokyo (and although I haven't looked for the raws and the remaining chapters haven't been scanlated, the volume is comprised of related short stories so I am sure the rest of it is good, too). I am longing for a scanlation or translated release of Hatarake, Kentauros! now, especially because I just read this review of it and it sounds like it contains everything I already love about Est Em from the fraction of her work I've seen. I mean, I want to OWN these books. I don't even care if I can't read them.
