So, watched the most recent Sengoku BASARA episode yesterday. I...didn't actually find it anywhere near as compelling as the previous few (although that surprise at the end was nice if TOTALLY unsurprising). I guess my problem with it is that I just don't find either Keiji or Hideyoshi that interesting most of the time. Only when Hanbei is involved. Or when Keiji is provoking Masamune like in the first season. Perhaps it's because I haven't played the games (GASP) although I have read the scripts...but I am really not feeling much of anything as far as Keiji is concerned. I wouldn't say I dislike him, but for me he is among the least interesting of the characters.

I have SO VERY NEARLY finished watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai.

I just need to say I CANNOT STAND SATOKO.

I don't know what it is OKAY I DO IT'S HER VOICE, AND HER ANNOYING WHINING. I want someone to hurt her every time she starts crying (and especially if her incessant "NII-NII! NII-NII!" is involved, which it almost always is. (I feared I might have this problem with Higurashi; a few of the characters are well below the age range I would normally be able to find interest in/empathise with...but it's actually only Satoko that I truly cannot stand).

I also have an intense dislike of Hanyuu mainly stemming from the ENTIRE EPISODE designated for showing how cute she is. I DO NOT CARE.

And just to prove that I am not totally devoid of sympathy to abused children in anime (ONLY MOSTLY), I actually DID like Takano's backstory... In particular, that scene where her grandfather's research papers are being stamped on and she intervenes and tries to protect the research he has spent so much time on, for him to tell her that it's okay...and then for her to hear from outside the room that he is crying. I ALMOST CRIED TOO. I just found that very upsetting. OKAY so Takano didn't grow up to be a very nice person, but her intentions were good! (And thankfully after the frustrating cutesy Hanyuu-centric episode, the series has picked up again and I am hoping for an exciting conclusion). On the whole, the first series was much better, but curiosity has kept me watching this one until the end...

Ah, and I have to mention my current guilty pleasure series, Glass no Kantai because IT IS LOVE. I was already enjoying it and then this evening I watched the fourth episode and I just... COULD IT BE ANY MORE PERFECT FOR ME? The only thing preventing me from speed-watching the entire series is the painfully slow pace at which it's downloading. HURRY UP, TORRENT.
