Letter from OfCom

Mar 06, 2008 11:27

The gist of which:
- Kat Burley's ridiculous question was not a breach of the Broadcasting code.
- Because she was offensive to Pamela Wright, only Pamela Wright can complain.
- the 'tabloid and sensationalist' nature of the news report is the problem of the broadcaster, but doesn't breach Ofcom rules

Which is fair enough, but it doesn't actually get the complaint heard. Incidentally, my original post on the subject is now Google's #2result when you search for my Real Name. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

But, the petition now has nearly 300 signatures, and a bit of high profile. Of course, Sky News themselves have yet to reply to the email I sent them complaining about this treatment.

It makes me glad I'm with Virgin.
