james dewees and matt pryor at ottobar 1.20.12
The opener was Into It. Over It., and he was terrible. I do not recommend him, on the grounds that he started his set with a monologue about weight loss and also has a song that he introduced with "This is a song about my ex-girlfriend who had a pacemaker and a defibrillator and who left me to marry a guy who looks just like me," given that said song ended with "until your batteries run out." Which is not cool.
Also he was just a smug asshole in general.
DeWees and Pryor's set was cute, with lots of banter and the two of them adoring each other. Being neither a Reggie and the Full Effect fan or a Get-Up Kids fan, all of the music went over my head, but it was very cute.
Also, I hate Ottobar. Which probably means Empires will play their next time they tour. /o/
