friday moves too slowly

My desk is a metaphor for my life: everything is scattered. And there are many post-its.

Stressful meeting this morning actually went okay, so clearly the answer is to punt on the rest of the day and think about fanfic. That makes perfect sense. I'm staying home for the holiday weekend, so in theory I have lots of time to write; it will probably not play out that way, but let me pretend.

Some things I found interesting:

This essay about the Uruguayan soccer team and its history. I don't really like watching sports, and I haven't watched a minute of the World Cup. But I love stuff like this.

From sparky77: Also, I learned that there is a technical term for the phenomenon of groups behaving like families (like on Leverage). It's called the corrective recapitulation of the Primary Family Group and it kind of means that we are all searching for the perfect family and when in small group situations we take on roles that let us practice relationships that are or were unsatisfactory in our family of origins. *___* There is nothing I like better than finding out there is a big fancy name for something I like. Someone find a big fancy name for that fact and we'll start a recursive causality loop that will end the earth. It'll be fun.

The Racebending Revenge challenge fics are up. So far I've only read
gloss's beautiful, painfully sharp story, but many of these look amazing and I'm definitely going to be coming back to read more.

For now, though. Lunch. And talking about ridiculous things, if anyone would like to in comments, I'm very bored.
