Hoppity Goes to Town because it's so rarely screened and I love it etc.
Other non-packing related activities include tonight's
PJ Harvey gig and I finally visited the
Southbank members bar which rather excitingly had a collection of
Penguin Celebrations for me to rummage through. Some had already been pilfered but laughingly there was a copy of the
Jeremy Clarkson book there for me :)
PJ was in good spirits and dressed in a sumptuous arty frock which was the collision of Goth, Disney's Snow White and Sex Pistols era punk, and possibly designed by someone famous and fabulous. She played a varied set, giving a nod to all corners of her back catalogue while introducing her new album. It was a nice gig and a great distraction.
The Thames tide was insanely low and someone seems to have known about this and taken great advantage as under Festival Pier there was a free party in full swing with a roaring fire and some very old school reggae blaring. I was so ridiculously tempted to grab a beer and head down there myself but was overruled as I seriously, totally and completely must finalise the flat if not tonight then first thing tomorrow...
Friday night I dragged
silverjet_allie to the preview of
Enrico David exhibition. We had a great chat, some excellent mezzes and even gave the art a cursory glance. Once we'd drank the bar dry we trundled off into the weekend.
