This was my yesterday

Tuesday: A WHOLE LOT HAPPENED. BRACE YOURSELVES.

Day started off all normal and average with our Tudor Lyric lecture (Professor Zelenka update: he's part Polish and writes notes in Polish to pin outside his door and confound his colleagues. Awesome y/n?) and then a lot of War Fiction ... the weirdness began when a sweet boy (we'll call him Daniel) who I met on the module and have seen around waited for me afterwards and walked pretty much all the way home with me. It was nice, and as soon as I got the conversation away from God and the Christian Union things went very smoothly.

(My only qualm is that he told me in Morrison's the other day that he became a Christian when he was six, which I find pretty suspect, and that he has prayed to God to make him clean. I mean, I'm a Catholic by upbringing, but that just makes me a bit uncomfortable. He seems otherwise sane)

So then there was the Improv Group Comedy Night in an awesome little pub. The downstairs was split into two rooms, with one room being full of students, board games and brightly coloured drinks and the other half populated solely by bearded folk-singers and their weather-worn guitars.

Upstairs, the Improv Group put on a fantastic show, with five stand-ups (including Housemate Ollie, who was really good), a bunch of Whose Line-type games (that rocked) and a half hour sketch show (which was easily better than most sketch shows currently televised). The only problem was that the room was packed and it got so hot in there I thought people were going to start passing out. One of the Improv Guys (skinny!Matt) was practically dripping from the armpits.

Then the whole cast came back to ours for their after-show party, at which I felt a bit like a fifteenth wheel so I called it a night fairly early on and went to shower before bed. Unfortunately I picked the time that all the lads currently in the house needed to piss, so when I came out of the bathroom in all my orange-towelled glory there were like seven guys all crowded round the door. Um. \o/

Anyway. I tried to sleep, but at some point I've re-developed my cold thing and couldn't breath or settle, and since I'd had to stand for all two and a half hours of Improv my legs were knackered, so I didn't get to sleep for ages.

From my bed I heard one really good impression of The Hitcher and a heated argument about whether or not to use Nige's boxers to mop up the water in the bathroom, so it wasn't all bad.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, a huge gang of us walked the long route back from the pub to our house, which was pretty cool in itself, but curious and curiouser, Malcolm walked and chatted with me the entire time, so I guess we're friends, which is nice :)

So that was my day. I like it when stuff happens. Now I have to tidy my room in preparation for my parents coming up to visit tomorrow. :D
