"She's a star, Leon," Jill said patiently, perched on Leon's desk. "She was in that film you and Chris went to see last week."
"I know that," Leon grumbled, glowering at the computer. "I just want to check the records, see what we have on her."
He couldn't have explained to Jill why it mattered, because as soon as he said the words "pet shop" she'd stop laughing at him and start wearing her "I'm listening to make sure you don't do anything stupid" expression.
It was just - he'd seen the actress coming out of the pet shop yesterday, a covered cage in one hand as she sauntered up the steps. And one thing he knew about the stars that went to D's shop was that if she had any secrets, they'd be all coming out soon.
If he started looking for them now, they might come out before she got killed instead of after.
