So, I managed to get behind in my writing, I think I missed two(?) days which by my daily goal means I effectively skipped out on 4,000 words. I'm sure that somewhere out there the experienced WriMos are laughing at such a small amount in their minds, i've seen tweets of people easily getting over 10k in a day after all. However my short attention-span can't keep me focused enough to reach those amounts in a day. 2k is more than enough for me and I rather like realistic goals as opposed to trying to commit to several times over that amount.
Either way, by this point i've moved on from my first 'chapter' after the prologue. It went relatively well, I fail at describing robotic movements and other words to describe animals, i'm looking at you Rogue and Shadow, without falling onto the clichés. I don't want this ebony and gemstone stuff in my writing, which makes the whole thing worse when trying to think of references to a character. Humans are a little easier, okay understatement in my mine by meaning still stands.
I've been looking at my NaNo writing stats over the past few days and I find it interesting how missing a few days can screw the whole thing up. Recalling from yesterday, since I obviously haven't written anything today and have those stats being a great deal worse than they 'should' be, at my pace i'm set to finish at the end of December if I don't write over 1900 words per day. Good thing i'm really sticking to my 2k limit then.
I've come to the actual conclusion that I only seem to write in the evening. 6pm - 9pm. And if I need to write more then it's 10pm - whenever. I haven't had to juggle pets into the equation over the past few catch up days though but starting today i'm going to have to get that in. Should be interesting I suppose.
And for anyone wondering, I have yet to break 10k. How sad.
Finally reached over that 10k. 10,145 words.
