Wow, where to start...
Seneca came to visit Terry and me last Monday. Got in at midnight, which I wasn't thrilled with, but it's OK because he's awesome. <3
He came bearing a TON of gifts...in addition to Persona and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, he gave me copies of pretty much every Slayers anime ever, movies and all. I also got Super Mario All-Stars, the SNES remake of the first 3 NES Mario games. I've been looking for this for years! I forgot how addictive...and bloody DIFFICULT...these puppies were. Thank gods they added a Save feature. o.O Last but not least, he gave me an emulator disc with a bunch of translated Japanese RPGs, and a game called 'Dungeon Siege' for the compybox. Dunno much about that yet, but it's apparently something his boyfriend likes, so I'll probably bug him for help. ^_^
As if that weren't enough, while he was here, he actually went and bought me a game called Disgaea...for those that don't know, it pretty much plays like Final Fantasy Tactics, except with a storyline you can actually follow, not to mention funnier dialogue. ^_^ I like it a lot.
With everything he gave us, it doesn't seem fair to only send him home with my spare copy of Sleeping Beauty...but he mentioned to me that he hadn't seen the movie since 1st grade! o.O Obviously, giving him this was a mission of necessity. (this is my 3rd-favorite movie of all time, behind Lion King in 2nd and Beauty and the Beast in the number 1 spot. I am a huge old-school Disney freak.)
We got to spend Halloween together, which was nifty. We went out to the Spirit store in Stonestown to take in the atmosphere, and I got a really spiffy sword. This thing was amazing...quite a step up the cheap plastic junk you can probably still find at Walgreen's. The weight and balance is really there. Of course, the decorations were just decals that fell off when I touched them, but that's OK. It's fun to play with. ^_^ We didn't actually go out on Halloween night, but stayed in and had fun anyway. He showed us Dogma, which I'd never seen and turned out to be extremely intriguing. Between playing games, going out to see the city, and doing stuff, everyone had a lot of fun while he was here...except possibly Jamie.
I feel bad 'cause Jamie kind of got left out...not because we meant to exclude him, but because there were a lot of things Senny wanted to show us (and do with us) that involved just the three of us. Besides, he's been dealing with a bout of chronic insomnia, so he was a little short-tempered. Fortunately, he's over it now...we found something over-the-counter with "Som" in the name (yeah, that's why I'm not a pharmacist), and it gave him 10 hours' sleep last night. Not to mention Frank brought over KOTOR II, so Jamie's been merrily messing with that. (ironically, his Jedi Exile looks like Buddy Jesus.)
We were sad when Seneca had to go home, but that's OK...because now we're all going to do our best to (someday) move him and his boyfriend here from Tennessee. They'll have to get a house, so it'll take lots of time and money, but we can be patient and smart. I hope. >.>
There, I put it in writing. Now it HAS to happen, sooner or later.
Besides that, not a lot else is new. I've been doing less for Marketshare than usual lately...the project I was assigned to is near Candlestick Park, so they have to close on days when there's a home game. I hate football. I hate football season. >.< Fortunately, Fernando (my new supervisor) has been great about finding me alternate locations during those days, so I can still earn money and not feel completely useless.
Writing-wise, I'm still dry as a bone...the occasional drabble or ficlet will escape my fingers, but I have yet to come up with anything truly awe-inspiring. Hopefully with all the goodies I received (d00d, seriously, it was like Christmas on Halloween!), something will reach out and BONK me on the head. Right now, Disgaea's looking like the biggest option for inspirational gaming...besides the brat-prince (not Lestat, geeks) and his vassal, you pretty much make up the rest of your party from scratch. I might design my own adventuring party there and see what stories I can come up with...
That's all I can think of right now. Kung-Fu Panda is on video soon, and Terry is of course salivating for it. He even calls it KFP now, which makes me hungry for some Colonel's Original Recipe Strips every time he says it. (No, I did NOT sound like a commercial just now. You were imagining it.)
Ja ne!
