Yeah, a year and a half...
I really have no defense. Just been too busy with life. Being polyamorous is a metric fuckton of work.
Not even sure if I'm on anyone's watch lists anymore, but I must be since someone remembered my birthday tomorrow (thanks for that! :) ).
Anyway, what've I been up to...Not a whole lot. Still working at Marketshare, keeping an eye out (as always) for something else I'd like to do. Still with Terry and Seneca and Nathan, and that's not changing anytime soon. I love my guys. ^_^
Been to Tennessee a few times to see them this last couple of years. I really do sell that state short...the landscape is stunning. All in all though, I prefer to be where I can be myself. The best thing about Tennessee is Senny and Nathan, and if things go the way we want them to, they'll be coming to California, probably to set up shop somewhere in the Bay Area where we can at least see each other more than once or twice a year. Since most of the friction in the relationship comes from it being long-distance (and therefore annoyingly expensive to maintian)
Put my relationship with Jamie into some perspective. I still love the man madly, but more as a "father-figure" type than an actual bf. That's not to say I won't always be there for him when he needs me, just in a different capacity than before.
On the game front, I has a 360. And Oblivion. And FF13, which feels like playing a monorail. And hopefully pretty soon, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Yes, I'm behind the times. I played Fable II, which I loved, but I also literally played it to death, as my copy now has a big crack along the side which killed the disc. If anyone has game suggestions (that aren't FPS's), fire 'em my way.
I also picked up a DS. Currently I'm playing FF3 on it, but I've also played Chrono Trigger DS (not that different from the other versions, from what I saw) and Scribblenauts. Jamie also likes Myst, though I never got the hang of it. Finding good games for this puppy is a bitch.
But my latest video game is Civilization 4, thanks to Nathan. Just started playing that a couple nights ago...got through the tutorial by making Gandhi love me. Since the two of us have pretty similar views on the socio-political spectrum, it wasn't that hard. Playing it on the laptop kind of bites, but all I need is a proper mouse and I'll be in business.
Learned my first guess about Ricky Martin (in college) was right until I managed to psyche myself into being wrong. (Note to self, people are never "metrosexual," they're just in the closet.)
Well, maybe now we'll get some decent albums out of him...coming out did wonders for Darren Hayes, musically. Or maybe it was getting married, I dunno.
On a side note, I am utterly and completely a Doctor Who geek now. Or I was, during David Tennant's run (still playing catch up while watching the current events). Not sure about Matt Smith, as I still haven't seen him do anything truly amazing yet, though that could be the new exec producer's fault.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell right now. I'll be 28 tomorrow, and my little brother will hit the big 1-8. He graduated a couple weeks ago; I'm still wrapping my mind around that.
Big plans today. Dinner and Prince of Persia with Terry after he gets off work. (Incidentally, this'll be my first Jake Gyllenhaal movie. I skipped out on Brokeback deliberately; it wasn't nearly as revolutionary as everyone says.) So I better get ready.
I know some people will wonder what the hell I'm doing with my life, and my response is: I'm living it. I'm enjoying it, and I'm spending it with people I care for. :)
I'm not an ambitious person. All I want is to be happy, and to have the people I care about be happy as well. (If you're still here after reading through all that, this likely means you too).
Be well,
'Yama/Curt
