How satisfying, the implication that, had I lived a hundred years later, I might have used the gifts of advanced technology to live a life of art compromised by petty attempts at commerce and substance abuse, all in the name of some quite bad poetry. I am not sure what that fellow had the right to complain about, unless it was the tightness of those leather trousers.
It seems that, once again, I am shown a life that neither fills me with hope nor makes me yearn for the old one. And maybe that's the point--conditioning to be made grateful for the time we spend on the Barge during the lulls.
