awesome show!
Much-belated turkeyday post: thxgiving was excellent. Somehow ended up at a random LAN party at Chris' place, where we mostly played Smash Bros. lol. Man, was it a snap back to the sex+drugs of high school... it's nifty how much of that I abandoned in coming to University, when I expected it to get orders of magnitude worse, lol. Anyway, the Ottawa scene was good fun hanging out with ppl etc. Until 5:30am when my sister calls up, after having first woken up all of Andrea's family who she called to get Chris' phone number. Apparently she flipped out cuz she thought I must've hit a deer on the road and was unconscious or something. hehe, oops.
As if calling would have helped if that were indeed the case ;) ah well, Catherine's cool, and happy birthday to her. Gotta remember, no all-nighter parties while living with mom.. l0lz.
Super awesome show time! This is twice this term!! After leaving the CSC at 12:30 tonight, I was totally awestruck, compelled into the Bomber where they were playing sweet sweet energetic modern electro-rock. I swear after toootally grooving for a few songs, I thought they were Trash-80!! But no, it was "Shout Out Out Out Out". Incredible!! Two drummers, two bass, and oh sweet vocoder luv. Chekkit out!!! The scene was really great, small crowd but they were actually groovin' and totally connecting with the band. How often are you at a show where the audience can all yell "More Cowbell!!" and the band does it!!! Hahaha it was phenomenal.
So I'm there tootally geeking out, gettin' all into it cuz it's so sweet... then I notice my CS prof is next to me, roflol!! Richard Mann is a scenester, teehee. He had all his gear there recording the show, so he said he'd hook me up with the FLACs! YaY! I'm all, "Does your wife know you stay out late at night going to shows?" and he's like, "Yeah." So that dude rulez, and I'm taking his Computer Vision class next term. w00t.
Sadly, I kinda mostly-skipped the WCF NomCom (we propose an exec to be voted on for elections) meeting that I was supposed to run tonight.. eeks. Guess I'm getting too excited about my new crazy random project idea... Meh, more on that in next post. As for the meeting, I was forgiven :) So peace out, friendz!
