I'm richer than Calvin Coolidge! Put together!
I am currently writing this during my "winter break," which is basically just a four day weekend. And they keep telling us we have 2 days off but it's really only 1 because we would have had President's day. So. Kind of mad.
Anyway, something kind of awesome happened last week. Kenni, David, and I went to GSU on Thursday to see F. W. De Klerk speak (former president of South Africa.) He spoke about Apartheid and leadership etc. It was very exciting. On the way home, we ate at the awesomest restaurant in existence: Spicy Thai in Griffin.
Once again, no pictures because I lost my camera cord. :/
I finally watched Singin' in the Rain. So in love. That's pretty much instantly going into my favorite movies.
Happy to see Tessa and Scott win the SD, even with yet another injury. So over the V/M backlash right now.. I'm totally fine with people not loving their style. I get how the whole annoyance at the fake relationship, cutesy Canadian sweethearts thing. But seriously, they are the World and Olympic champions for a reason. And not everyone who can appreciate any aspect of their skating is a shipper.. Oh wow. They have 2 similar FD's. (Don't tell me UoC is soft, romantic, slow. Just don't.) And I guess people forgot about Pink Floyd, Malaguena, and um, all their OD's. They are still fast, athletic and innovative. I just don't get why people have such a problem with them skating in a classic style. (And if they weren't Chanadian, there probably wouldn't be one...)
I guess I'm mainly just upset with the two people on _skating obsessively calling them beige every chance they get. It's funny how you never saw that in the beginning of the fandom, after the Olympics. (But maybe that's because most of those people were ignoring every other aspect of skating while they were obsessed with the men). And the whole basic bitches thing? Some people are just way too obsessed with being from ONTD...
/rant. Anyway, wishing them a speedy recovery.
Lastly- Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae are going on tour!! And they will be in Atlanta May 10!!! Be still my heart.
