Fundies sued the Obama administration over the President's policy of extending the lines for stem cell research and won an injunction barring funding for new lines. Their reasoning? They claim that there would be no embryos left to be put up for adoption for couples who want them, even though the embryos that would have been used in the research would have come from willing donor couples who have no further use for the excess embryos. Oh, and that Obama's breaking a law that says that no federal funds can go to the research, even though it was PRIVATE funds going into it.
Because apparently, the life of an embryo is just that much more important than someone who is suffering from Parkinson's or people like my cousin who suffer from Type I diabetes. Fuck those fundie shits.
