Character Sketch: Anton Mikhailachev

I decided to do Anton as well while I was at it.

1) Since Kliment's return to his house, Anton's been going there often for some peace and to report to his grandfather Boris about what's going on.  He also does it to check up regularly on his uncle Kliment as well and has promised Akim that he could come along so that he could meet his sister Sabina.

2) Anton's father Carlos Lopez was the first Latino ever to be married into the Mikhailachev family.  Being biracial has caused Anton a lot of grief growing up, but he soon found comfort in one Akim Mikhailachev, who was willing to be friends with him.

3) Anton is fluent in Spanish, as his parents strongly encouraged him to embrace his Latino heritage.  Akim finds it sexy, and as Akim is likewise fluent in Russian (his uncle Piotr taught him the language), they say "I love you" to one another in the respective foreign languages of their respective heritages as a way to display their affection to one another.

4) As a bisexual, Anton is not picky about which sex he prefers.  He is very alert to the attractiveness of women, as opposed to Akim and has told Akim that he has a hot babe for a half-sister when describing Sabina to him.  He likely would have paired off with a woman had he not wound up with Akim and had his mother not discouraged Anton's interest in women in general.  Akim is very tolerant of how Anton describes women as babes, whereas Maiya would be all over him and accuse him of being a pervert.

5) Anton's father calls Anton by the Spanish equivalent of his name, which is Antonio.

6) The reason why Maiya is overly protective of her only son is because he was bullied as a child relentlessly by the other kids at school.  Over time, however, Anton has grown tired of his mother's antics and has in recent years asserted his independence by telling his mother off every time she complains about Akim and how he and Anton have raised their son Nestor.

7)  When Anton got pregnant, it came as a complete surprise to Anton and Akim, as neither expressed a desire for children and as they were both to become vampires, they knew it wouldn't have mattered whether they bred or not.  They had been careful about condoms at that point, and obviously Nestor was the result of a condom that had broken.  (It should be noted that Akim's reason for not wanting kids was obvious; his mutation and naturally, he did not want to pass it along.  Anton was rightfully afraid his mother would be just as overprotective of any grandchild as she had been with her son.)

8)  Anton was completely flat on his back exhausted while pregnant, and it's for this reason that Maiya resents Akim, even though Akim did the responsible thing during Anton's pregnancy and got himself a vasectomy and then tenderly and lovingly fixed up food trays for Anton as he was too weak to go to the kitchen to feed himself (it should be noted that Anton was still human at the time).

9) Anton was the first to suggest to Akim that they move out of his mother's house, as it was increasingly difficult for them to have any proper couple time with Maiya watching their every move.  Akim was the one who added that they likely ought to take Nestor with them, so that Anton can sit Nestor down properly and discuss women with him.

10) Anton still doesn't understand why Maiya discourages both him and Nestor from interacting with women.  Hopefully, he can find out one of these days...
