So Obama picks another unmarried and childless woman to fill a SCOTUS vacancy, and the homophobe/misogynists in the AFA and other Christian Right fundie groups are out to question her sexuality because they don't think that a lesbian should sit on the high court. They make this assumption based on the fact that Elena Kagan is pro-LGBT rights, never mind the fact that it's perfectly possible to be heterosexual and unmarried and be pro-LGBT rights (in fact, there are many feminists who are heterosexual that support the rights of LGBT folks and some of them are even unmarried and childless to boot! Imagine that.)
Obviously, her sexuality shouldn't matter, any more than Justice Sotomayor's race should have mattered when she was picked to replace Justice Souter. But to the wingnuts and the fundie whackos, it does and this is yet another reason why I can never vote for a party that caters to their ilk.
