you’re a superstar
kyuhyun/ryeowook | friendship | pg
kyuhyun looks up, mouth full of food and a noodle dangling out of his mouth.
“Oh my gosh,” Ryeowook says, rushing over to Kyuhyun once he enters the door. “Do you know how badly you scared all of us?”
Kyuhyun smiles sheepishly. “Sorry. Apparently, the truck driver had fallen asleep at the wheel, so…” Ryeowook’s eyes widen, and he’s about to freak out some more and are you sure you’re okay, no major injuries, does anything hurt anywhere?, but Kyuhyun cuts him off and asks if he can make him some food because he hasn’t eaten yet today and it’s already nearing noon.
He makes him ramyun for lunch and watches as the younger boy eats, and Ryeowook thinks faintly, omnomnom, before saying, “The schedule hasn’t changed, by the way. You’re going tomorrow, right?”
Kyuhyun nods. “I feel fine.”
“You were limping through the door, though.”
“…I still feel fine.”
There is no way for Ryeowook to express how he felt at that moment-when their manager called, nearing seven in the morning, saying that Kyuhyun had been in a car accident. Everyone assumes the worst when Kyuhyun and car accident are mentioned in the same sentence-and really, they have every right to-and Ryeowook can almost still feel the fear in his blood, pumping through his body, present and haunting.
“Maybe I should drive you everywhere from now on,” he muses. “I’m a pretty good driver.”
Kyuhyun snorts into his food. “You drive even less than Jungsu-hyung.” (Jungsu doesn’t drive at all.)
And Ryeowook thinks, this is okay. These kinds of things put everything into perspective-it really makes you see what’s important. Ryeowook doesn’t want to take Kyuhyun for granted-he doesn’t want to take anyone for granted.
“Kyuhyun-ah, I love you,” he sings, and Kyuhyun looks up, mouth full of food and a noodle dangling out of his mouth.
He nods, words muffled because he’s in the middle of chewing. “Love you too, hyung.”
Ryeowook reaches out and ruffles his hair, earning himself a shout of indignation.
in light of kyuhyun’s car accident that made the world’s heart stop for a moment, here is a fluffy drabble because he showed up at the mv shoot yesterday, all smiles and happiness in those teal converse, gorgeous and sitting at a keyboard may i add
AND HELLO RYEOWOOK WAS HOLDING A GUITAR, A GUITAR
you can tell i’m really excited for this song orz it was totally my style of music before i got into kpop, and now it’s like the two have MERGED and it is just so glorious ;A;
