I went up to C.S. last Thursday cause that's where I go to escape my problems, apparently. Becca gave me her ticket for Harry Potter's midnight showing since she unfortunately couldn't make it. I couldn't find any round, black-rimmed Harry Potter glasses at the last minute, so I just dressed up as a student with a Gryffindor tie and the wand I made for the last film. I like dressing up for stuff, and I wondered when I would get too old to be doing stuff like that. I gotta make sure I still keep friends around that like to do that. Got there 3 hours early, which was good, because people started scrambling for seats at 10:30. My general impression was "good," but I feel like I might have built it up too much. I haven't been anticipating the movie as much as some others, but I remmebered it was my favorite book of the series so far. I think it didn't capture what I loved about it, although, to be fair, it was a tremendous job of adaptation sicne the book was so long. I wasn't disappointed with what they left out (I kind of hated Hermione's S.P.E.W. campaign anyway), but it just moved so fast thru the year that it didn't really feel like a year at school. I'm gonna see again with my mom, so I'm gonna give it another look.
I visited my last job to see my supervisor at the Meal Plan Office on Friday. Things don't sound too good for her. I heard she's already pretty sure she's gonna lose her job because they're slowly phasing out a lot of Food Services stuff. Who knows how long Food Services will even be around? She's been there a really long time, so it really sucks for her.
As an update to the phone number I got at the club last week...I lost it. I checked my phone the following Monday to call and couldn't find it. I think I forgot to hit Save. I don't get a lot of numbers in the first place and even fewer that I'd like to have. (This may be #2.) So I was really disappointed. And I didn't want him to think I blew him off by not calling. I only knew his name, his age, and where he lived. Could I have possibly found him on Gay.com? Nope. Tried that. So, after careful deliberation (2 phone calls and 20 min.), I decided to go back to South Beach that Friday to see if he was there again. What made it extra crazy was that I drove from College Station down to the club in Houston and then back up. Amy felt bad for me and went with me. She was already down there for a concert so it kinda worked out. Didn't see him there, tho. But I feel like I at least tried.
I stayed in CS Sat. for this drag show that was coming to Halo that was supposed to be huge. Some ladies from Austin who perform with their mustaches and beards not hidden. Drag doesn't do much for me, but then what am I doing in Houston on Saturdays? We gathered up a crew or Amy, Steve, and some of Amy's Town Hall buds and joined a bunch of other crews there. It was the most crowded I have seen at Halo ever. Show was alright, but I think I was just techno-ed out from 3x in 2 weeks. Danced for a bit. Caught Amy making out with Matt several times over an hour's span ;o). Tried to find cigarettes for a short while (bad, I know). Found Amy in the bathroom (with Matt) and headed home. Not my best time at Halo, but everyone else seemed to have fun. Plus I let slip something that happened the last time I went to Halo that I guess someone didn't remember happening. Almost off the hook. ;o) Wanted to catch the church service back home. Ben Stuart was preaching again, and I love his stuff. He's an Aggie (Class of 2003?), is now Dir. of Breakaway in C.S., and used to be a Youth Pastor at the church my fam goes to. Doubted I would wake up in the morning early enough to drive home so I went back at 3 am. Didn't start to get sleepy till I was in my neighborhood, so that's better than most nights.
