Don't worry I won't be so mean as to put spoilers here. Today.

Saw M3 tonight at the eversopricy AMC 16 (which is at least a better theater than the UA chain is around here). To be sure not all the plot holes are closed (something Jake mentioned in his blog) and there's some things left deliberately open. There's some hokum here (Possibly ( Read more... )

I've heard the christ connection a bunch of times both on blogs (like the aforementioned Jake) and in the meat world. There's certainly a messiah element to it. Resurrection is left to interpretation. The most interesting bit being that the "corpse" in the pit was obviously the Oracle's and not Neo. Given that his reason to live (Trinity and ending the war) was gone (and gimme a break is everyone that co-dependant?) I kinda doubt it. Watching a Narnia series like that would be hilarious - and seeing as no other film or television version has done the series justice it can't really be *worse*. Yeah lions and heavy machine guns. Sweet. Not to mention the joy of it being at least _five_ films. I think it's a sure pitch to studio execs - maybe you can gloss over the opposable thumbs thing.

I'd dig a redux of the Smith character in LOTR , it'd be a good , albeit cheap, laugh. While he can't change that voice it's clear that Elrond _isn't_ Smith - if only most A-list "actors" could say the same (Tom Cruisemissile anyone?).

I'd downloaded the Animatrix shorts that were online and thought that they were good - I don't remember them clearly though and while incidental I didn't recall them adding or clarifying all that much. When I get it I'll check out the Director's tracks. I seem to recall one of the shorts showing how mistreated the early machines were. I knew during the second movie that there was going to have to be some kind of co-existance with the machines (regardless of the Smith issue) - so that piece of the ending didn't surprise me.

And speaking of probative value - was I the only one that didn't find Trinity hot? Persephone - oh yeah. Strangely given that she was playing a more repulsive character, Moss was hotter in Memento.
