Nootropics - entry 1

Oct 25, 2009 22:47

I have begun taking the first of my NooTropics - 5-HTP to be specific. The other one I ordered which I want to start with the 5-HTP has also I arrived (at least im 90% sure it has) but is awaiting a signature at the post office.

To ensure that I keep some note of whats going on, I am going to update this journal at least weekly, on any progress, change, or otherwise.

I have now been taking the 5-HTP 2 days. Tonight I am going to take it for the first time in combination with alcohol.

So far, I have noticed I am sleeping much more comfortably. I am not waking on odd positions, I believe I have been less restless, and I am waking up refreshed and in quite a good mood. Normally I DO NOT want to rise from bed - for a whole host of reasons - and just try and go back to sleep. Even though its the weekend and i've been doing my darndest to avoid my assignment, I was reasonably happy to wake up and get out of bed. Each morning upon awakening I have tried to remember my dreams to track any change there. They have been no more lucid than usual (I dream quite intensely most nights anyway) but they have been much less brutal and gloomy than usual - even some happy dreams. They also have seemed to carry my last waking thought into them, and on 1 of the 2 nights I managed to fall asleep in under 30 mins - very unusual for me.

So overall, a good response thus far. I have noticed no profound, or minor either, cognitive changes, or memory boosts. However, mental function is generally improved simply as a result of feeling extremely well rested and well mooded after 8 hours sleep.

This is just the start of the stack i intend to end up on, which will include targeted B6, B12, Piracetam, Oxitripitan, Omega3 and Modafinil.
