Author’s Note: This is the art for firesign10's spn_j2_bigbang Rule of Thirds, the first of three bigbang art sets I am doing this year! The fic is a delicious dive into a rare but fascinating threesome pairing featuring one of the favored Supernatural supporting characters of my heart, Victor Henriksen. It explores the richness of the dynamic between him and the boys that got cut short on the show and it was a delight to work on! Carole was so enthusiastic about the direction I wanted to go with the art and fun to work with, so this was a great experience (for me, I guess you'll have to ask her if she had a nice time or not :P)! I was so stupidly inspired by the story that I just wanted to make more and more pieces for it and build on the theme I picked out for the art. Unfortunately time and real life got away from me, so there are some things I'm not completely happy with, but on the whole, I think I didn't do so bad considering this was my first time working with photoshop! My favorite thing about the story aesthetically was that it really captured that early seasons on-the-road motel feel, so that is what I wanted to explore with the art. I hope you like it and that you think it does justice to this wonderful story (which you should go read right now)! I also need to give a great big shout out to my sweet marietwist who ended up being my art beta by virtue of I tried to ask her one question in Twitter DMs and quickly became completely dependent on her feedback to know whether I was completely off base or not. This art would be a mess without her. ♥
Summary: Victor Henriksen survived Lilith's blast at the Monument police station. He returns to the FBI after his hospital stay but can't reconcile his past world view with his knowledge of the supernatural. Enter Sam and Dean Winchester, who invite Victor to join them, starting him not only on a journey of hunting, danger, and life on the road, but one that will lead him to explore who he really is.
