Very late 6 month update!
Owgh! I am presently just back from Ruisrock (saw tonnes of good stuff; Kashmir, CMX, Maija Vilkkumaa, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, Mew [I recommend], SMG, PotF, YUP, Apulanta, Ismo Alanko, Egotrippi, The Crash and Tool), so I'm not going to make a horribly comprehensive entry. Just some major points right here :
- it's now over 6 months since I left the armed forces of Finland. Thus, I have been out of the bastard place longer than in it. Everyone say YAAAAY!
- Between the 15th of June and the 6th of July, I went to CANADA, which is, needless to say, a country filled with cool and NICE and awesome people, who all rock. And are excellent. And married!
- I have a girl!
- I also have a cold. This is less of a "yay" thing.
Hum. What else? Well, argh. I should probably document my Canada-stay here. I'm sure my future self would thank my past self. Maybe I can write more about each day, but now...hm. It looked aboutish like this :
15th-16th : Arrived, was greeted by A & S at airport in Toronto. Kickass + "wtf it's supposed to be 2 AM?!" jetlag-of-doom.
16th-18th : Weekend #1. Hung out with Steven and Ashley's friends, played board games and had a grand ol' time. Was kissed repeatedly! Mostly by Steven though. D'oh.
19th-21st : Ashley worked, Steven and I hung about doing our hanging-about thing. Which incidentally involved cuddling a lot of terrorists and driving tanks. Heh. Shitguys! Fire missiles! Wednsday Ashley leaves to Ottawa to arrange wedding.
22nd : STAG NIGHT! Took Steven out on his last night of freedom with friends. First time I saw the insides of a so-called SKIN JOINT, eh? Eh! Beer was consumed.
23rd : Bus-ride to Ottawa. Me started writing speech, Steven started writing his vows. Heh.
24th : WEDDING-DAY. Was kissed again! This time less by Steven. Have about 300 pictures or so. Held speech. Was (apparently!) appreciated.
25th - 30th : Hung in Ottawa, at Aunt Val and Andrew's bungalow-of-richesse, spending time with many, many, many excellent members of Ashley's EXCELLENT family of excellence, and her friends. They were also very NICE. Saw Ottawa's sights, climbed a lot of statues and generally fooled about. *waves at Sara, in case she reads this journal* ^^
1st-5th : Err. Went back to Toronto aaand...aaand...uhmm. Shopped souvenirs. Saw the CN tower from up there. Oh! And CANADA DAY was then too, during the weekend! Almost forgot for a moment. Canada-day = BEACH! (and beer) Which was also excellent. Ashley worked during the week, but we went and visited her anyway!
6th : Going-home day. There was general sadness, but also : going home! Flight took like 8 hours. Arrived at 10 AM, thinking it was 3 AM the previous night >_<
Went almost immediately to Turku and to RUISROCK. Excellency ensues.
Now : going on boat-trip with family (well, only parents, actually, since sis is in France *waves at lil'sis* and brother is working), which shall take a week or so.
Hm. Rightoh. Enough written. And pardon the lenght of this. And the lack of picatoors/m00bies. I might add them at some point when I get the inspiration to upload them to photobucket or wherever and do the shebang-doobie magic-linking thang. Yes. Have a continued lovely summer, y'all! *sneezes, sniffles, clogs up, and feels all feverish and mlah. But still excellent!*
