Months of Data...

I was getting lazy about updating my LJ. Then I joined Facebook. Now my posts are non-existent. This is actually quite sad. I like LJ's format so much better. On Facebook, I never really tell the whole story, just a short snapshot of what's going on. So, in an effort to keep the public better informed, my status:

1. Work: Still doing it. I was supposed to be presenting papers at two conferences, but one of them has fallen through. However, I think the other one will happen. Once the conference proceedings are available to the public, I will be a "published author." That's just weird to think about.

2. Music: Still doing that, as well. Despite the fact that I am a middle-aged man now, my parents still send me money for my birthday every year. This year, I used it to get myself a new bass guitar. It's a cheap thing, but I like it, and it's way better than the beat-up old bass with a horribly warped neck I was using before. Also, I've recently discovered the joys of programming drums on the computer. It sounds much closer to a real drummer than the mid 90's-technology drum machine I've been using.

3. Photography: Still doing that, but at a slower rate, for some reason. It took me an entire year to shoot a 36-exposure roll in my Argus C3, but I got neat stuff out of it, like this:

and this one from a few months back in the Minolta SRT:

4. Thanksgiving is tomorrow. I, for one, am thankful for 4-day weekends. Jenn has spearheaded what promises to be an epicurean delight. I'm already salivating.

Well..I think that's about it for now.
