Hate Me | Blue October Chapter Two | I'm Yours Interlude Two - Hate Me
You made me complement myself
When it was way too hard to take,
So I'll drive so fucking far away
That I never cross your mind,
And do whatever it takes in your heart
To leave me behind.

Jensen slumped into the kitchen after his father, chucking his duffel bag in the corner of the sunny room.
Kissing his mother on the cheek, he sat himself down at the breakfast bar and sighed.
His mother leaned over the other side of the bench and swiped a cooling hand over his forehead, like she used to do when he was sick as a child, "Baby you look wiped. Somin's the matter too."
"Nothin's the matter Momma; just exhausted is all. It's been a long few months."
"And now you're goin' away again!" she exclaimed.
"Only for a week Momma." he sighed again and closed his eyes to shut out her worried face.
She shook her head at him, "You sure nothin's the matter? You and Jared didn't have a fight did you?"
Jensen opened his eyes in alarm, sitting a little straighter, "How'd you do that all the time? S'like you can read my mind or something."
"You did have a fight?" Donna's eyes grew wide, "You and JT never fight! What happened?"
"Can't tell you," Jensen muttered, sounding like a five-year-old.
"Psht," she scoffed, "I'm your Momma. You can tell me anythin'. I thought you knew that?"
"I know that Momma," he reassured her, "I do know that. I just don't know if you'd care to know."
"Sweetie Pie," she brushed her hand over his head again, "I'll never, ever not care enough to know."
Jensen took a deep breath, "'M not gay, but Jared and I were kinda sleepin' together."
"Ah," she smiled at him, not sounding at all surprised.
Jensen snapped his eyes up at his mother, "What do you mean, ah?"
"Well," she spread her hands out in a submissive gesture, "When the two of you were here on break there was somethin' there. Mac picked up on it too. You were, hmmm, closer than two male friends are normally."
"Why didn't you say anythin'?" he asked, almost groaning.
"Well baby, it's not somin' you can just say to your son. 'Oh honey, by the way, are you sleepin' with your co-star? Just so we know'. Think about what you woulda thought."
"I think I loved him Momma." he could feel the tears welling up in his eyes, "It wasn't like it normally is. I mean, for a start he was a guy. I've never been attracted to a guy before, but it was sommin' deeper. And now he doesn't want me anymore."
"I know you loved him darlin'. Now you gotta work on not lovin' him so the two of you can work together again. Get your friendship back. There'll be someone else out there for you." She kissed him again on the top of the head, "Now, I made chocolate brownies. You want one with a glass of milk?"
