Hell yes that's a lyric from a Spice Girls song. I was always Sporty when we roleplayed Spice Girls when we were little. How did I only admit to being gay last year? A mystery of the universe, that is for certain.
Right, I had a point. So. Today. Well today kinda blew but that's not what this entry is about. SAY NO TO EMO. So at approximately 1:30 this afternoon I stepped onto the soccer field as a Fusion for the last time. Quite bittersweet. I will definitely miss some of the members on my team so fucking much. I don't go to school with them but the years we've been together through soccer have been a blast and I don't know what I'm going to do without them. I'll miss Kelsey's witty comments and crazy antics. I'll miss the feeling of knowing Carlene always has my back. I'll miss Vanessa and her stalwartly ways. I'll miss Mel and her mind blowing ball control and one of a kind camaraderie. I'll miss wee little Ashley and her ever present smile. I'll miss Delanea and her ridiculous motions all over the field. Even Dana, who is new this year, will always have a place in my heart. Lisa-Jane talks way too fucking much and gets on my nerves a lot, but she is a wonderful person in her own right. And the rest of them... well, they can all collectively suck my cock. Actually, not all of the people I left out blow really hard, but there's a reason I excluded them.
The game was against a team a year older than us and when the ref called for captains, their entire team came over. It was their last game playing together because U-18 is as high as you can go before the super intense U-21 league. It was kind of touching. So they won the coin toss and the game was off. We battled hard. Dug deep. Tried our asses off. Sadly, it was to no avail. Justine, our goalie, re-fucked up her back when she came out for a save so we had to throw a random in net. Granted, she did a great job, but it wasn't enough. So, at around 2:36, I walked off the shitty field that was pure dirt, wearing a white t-shirt because we didn't have our alternate jerseys, my ass road-rashed to shit and was cheered at for much longer than I felt I deserved. It was a hell of a tournament.
So, in conclusion: my girls, I will miss you. I was proud to call you teammates and it was an honour to serve as your captain, if only for one official season. Thank you for showing me a hell of a time last night and I will never, ever forget you.
ETA: Apparently I'm also playing Psychiatrist!Courtney tonight, so if anyone needs counselling, why not fucking unload on me as well.
ETAA: Oh man, I love my mom. She bought me this teddy bear that sponsor's the B.C. Children's Hospital and this was what happened when she asked me if I'd named it yet:
Mom: Well Tegan can be a boy's name too.
Me: You know, I'm not that obsessed. I don't have to name my bear after her.
Mom: Look, all I'm saying is this: If Lauren or Viviana ask you what you did last night you'd be able to say "Oh, nothing much, I just slept with Tegan, no big deal."
I love her so so so very much. Never leave me mommy.
