Summary of the Holidays.

I always try and post something before December, but it never seems to happen. I feel like I always have the most to say then, yet am in the least reflective mood. Which is the needed case for motivation in posting to Live Journal.

So anyway here is a brief summary of the Holidays:

I went to my company holiday party and am reminded again how much I may really hate my job, and how yet I absolutely love the people in my company. They are all more or less awesome people. I usually always leave early, but this year I stayed later then anyone else from my store. I guess I am more comfortable with the people that work there now. It got me drunkenly reflecting on how much better at my job I am, and how I am not stressed by it. Yet I think all that just was a distraction from the fact that I didnt like it. It was a particularly warm night, so I walked from 33 street to Bryant Park where I found a cab.

Christmas Eve I continued what has become a three year tradition of going to the Ace hotel with Cat to more or less recreate the holiday episode of No Reservations from 2011. But its also become this nice break from family stuff during a family oriented time of year. Its like creating a little bit of my own life, in the life I have now. We ate dinner at the Breslin and I got a charred lamb burger and hard cider. Really yummy. I guess I like the tradition as usually christmas stresses me out because of my family. But with my family not in the picture it allows me to relax and actually feel some of that holiday magic everyone talks about when they describe why they like Christmas sooo much. Two days later Cat flew to Egypt.

New Years- Lauren had a pot luck dinner and invited Damain, Jill, and Deb. I kinda enjoyed the cooking more then the party. I made this fancy pork meatball/mushroom side and went to an old butcher in midtown to get the ingredients. The dinner kinda sucked because Deb makes me uncomfortable as she talks about me behind my back, and I felt uncomfortable. Not the best new years.

Had an actual weekend off last weekend, which felt like New Years and was a lot more fun. Max had a birthday party at his parents house looking over the East River. Had a lot of great discussions, had great beer, watched the fog roll across the bridge and watched the city fall asleep from up high. Left at 3AM with Mark and Sara. The next day I saw the Imitation Game with Jason and Mark and after joined them for a Pick-A-Carrot meeting. Was nice to get an inner sense of Marks life right now.

But it was really nice to feel like a normal person, with a normal schedule. I want that again. Ok well I am sitting in a coffee shop now. I had a busy day not sleeping last night, doing work stuff in the day, and getting lunch with Debbie (henry's girlfriend). Tired and just want to spend the night watching a movie and eating :p

kk, night everyone.
