Unimaginable pain.

(OOC: Variation on prompt because the typist wasn't paying attention. And then Alec was to stubborn to change it.)

Could we look at that statement? Unimaginable. Let me whip out my mental dictionary. (I have one. Seriously. I call it Merriam-Webster's the Memorized Edition.)

Main Entry: un•imag•in•able
Function: adjective
Date: 1611
: not imaginable or comprehensible

Okay, I'll admit, not the most informative of entries. But still. Not comprehensible.

Kinda an impossibility. You can't really write about something incomprehensible or unimaginable. They don't exactly have the same meaning but it'll do. If you can write about it than you can imagine it.

Indescribable pain. That I can wrap my mind around. Like it's my job. Like I've been there.

Physical pain sucks. Hardcore. The alternating sharp and dull of broken bones. The nasty burning of a gunshot wound. Infected wounds suck too, that's invasive an pervasive. Burns only hurt for a little while, but eventually if the damage reaches deep enough your nerves cook and your don't have to worry. Don't try drowning or hypothermia. Those suck to. Seizures? No fun.

The worst though is a different sort of pain altogether, Because it doesn't hurt. There is nothing to define the sort of weird, crushing, tearing, burning, whirling, confusing, terror screaming, focused chaos that comes right before you loose yourself. When you're stripped of everything that makes you yourself. Then when they remake you, it sort of like being bend in way that is just so foreign that it should hurt. But you don't feel anything. Because there is nothing of you to feel. I wish it was unimaginable.

Anyone else notice I'm whining a lot lately?

Someone slap me.
