Joined in a discussion with bosses today which made me realise what a lousy portfolio I'm having! Well, not that I only know today lah...
Focus area #1 - bosses say, "Nobody wants to do this! Can we find a way to get rid of this?"
Focus area #2 - big boss asked, "Is this the silly thing that the bigger bosses wanted?"
Focus area #3 - bosses say, "Just being the touchpoint, no value, can don't put it in? People only come to us when they want the thing free."
Ouch. What an un-valued, no-purpose job. Tell me how to motivate my staff when I'm not even motivated myself?
