So we're getting a FANTASTIC deal for
this place, which was one of our original dream locations (we met in a sci-fi film class). It was way too expensive, as they have a 12K minimum for Saturday weddings, however the owners are great friends and next door neighbors to Brian's parents, and we're pretty sure they'd be willing to do the thing at cost for us. We don't want to do the wedding there, though, because my parents would die, and it's not quite what were looking to have anyway.
We're going up on Sunday this weekend to look at
Kumler Chapel at Miami for the wedding itself. It's well within our budget, it's churchy enough to make our families happy, it's non church enough to make Brian and I happy, and it's quite pretty.
The dilemma is having the wedding 50 minutes away from the reception. Not good. So I'm going to see if I can find someplace in Cincinnati that Brian WOULD accept, but I'm not that hopeful, it's tough to find. The wedding would be around 11:00, and the reception would be around 4, I'd think, which would give people plenty of time to make it back to the party. Also, I'd make little day planner packages with maps and car games and travel goodies or something, to give them something to do while we're taking pictures or whatever, but I'm not sure that would be enough for it to not be a really big pain in the ass.
So I'm hoping to find a site in the city that I like.
Anyway, now I'm looking at
dresses. The last time I tried trying them on I broke out in hives and went into my first ever gen-you-wine panic attack. Hopefully it'll go better this time.
