Direct deposit my #&%

Sep 19, 2006 20:36

Supposedly I didn't sign up for direct deposit of my paycheck early enough, because t
he money didn't get deposited on the 15th.  Grr!  Instead, they are mailing me check.  Problem #1 - my bills all automatically debit from my account right now.  Prob #2 - Bloomington doesn't have a Wells Fargo Branch, so I can't just deposit the check.  Problem #3 - I'm sentimental/lazy, and thus don't want to completely switch to another bank.  I did open an account at the IU credit union, but since I have five bills automatically paid from that account and all my money in the wellsfargo account, along with an affiliated credit card and two savings acounts (which are, granted, near empty after the move), I don't want to close it down.  Especially since the credit union is pretty local, so it won't do me much good if I'm travelling.  To sum it up, I might be able to scrape by for one more bill period without the money in there, but I don't want to risk it, and yet I don't want to go to the hassle of fixing all of it.  Bleh and a pox on the king of England.  I bet Robin Hood didn't have to worry about banks. Is there a King of England right now?  No, just a Queen and Princes.  Oh well.  Yes, I am rambling and bouncing from thought association to association.  You are either very bored or very nice to have read this entire paragraph.

I got Roses from Bitz for my birthday.  Yay!  Plus
katyclismic gave me a box of candy which I'm devoured almost half of in two days. *blithely ignores the ghostly form of an evil dentist cackling and rubbing his hands behind my sugar dusted back*

Sadly, I got overenthusiastic while speaking to a guy I rather like (yes, he's jumpable, but also in my program and thus someone I won't be able to easily avoid in the future if I manage to embarass myself), and I think I might have scared him off a little.  I just don't see him that often and I got a little overexcited and I think he felt maybe like a rabbit or an Aoshi under the eye of Misao and thus made his excuses and escaped.  So that's a bit sad.  But I'm not defeated yet!  I will have him as a good guy friend if nothing else!  Yes, he will be mine. Ohohoho~ (Half of me is undefeated and the other half is red-faced and embarassed in a corner)

On a happy note, none of the fruit flies my class was mating yesterday escaped to run amuck.  I had horrible visions of the students releasing clounds of them when they tried to combine the tubes, but luckily it all went off smoothly.
Example of an overheard conversation yesterday:

Student1: So I put them together.  Are they mating yet?
Student2: How do I know?  We're done, let's just get out of here.
S1: But I want to see them doing it.
S2: Yuck, you want to see fly sex?
S1: I'm a biologist! (Tone of noble righteousness)
S2: er... okay....
Indygodusk: (helpful and amused) It might take a while for them to start mating, or be hard to see.  I'm sure there are videos online about the mechanics of it, though, if you are interested.
S1: I'm not THAT interested.
S2: *snorts* fly porn *snorts*
