He’s fragile, so very fragile, yet never fragile enough to completely shatter.

Fuuma had known this for a long time by now. After so many attempts to break him down not even the most painful things could stop him from rebuilding himself. It was as through the outside could shatter completely yet there was something, some type of power, deep within which would fix him every single time.

Perhaps it was a wish.

That just lead to the question of what type of wish was keeping that boy going right now. The final battle was long gone by now and the wish that had been pushing him on before had very little, if any, relevance to the events right now. This was a normal problem. It didn’t concern the world or put anyone in danger, at least he didn’t think it did. Surely this was just an ordinary everyday teenage problem, a normal life problem that anyone his age could and probably did go through.

That was life and they both knew it.

The door opened and there he was for possibly the third night in a row. Kamui swiftly closed the door behind himself before promptly walking straight through the room, his gaze firmly locked on the floor without sparring the other even the smallest glance. Fuuma didn’t question it, he knew perfectly well about the little routine he went through and he wasn’t going to interrupt it. He’d invited that boy into his apartment and told him to act as if it was his own, who was he to question the actions the other made?

It was best to let him run through things on his own. He simply wanted someone to be there, to be around and occasionally hold him while he let everything out. He didn’t want pity or comfort. That was something which had been made perfectly clear the first time he’d stepped through those doors. Fuuma waited until he heard the sound of the shower water before moving to make hot drinks.

A shower, a confession and then he’d finally sleep.

That was how it had been going for these past few days and he truly doubted that the routine would change this day. He was fairly certain that he knew what the problem was about as well, the person that the other was apparently seeing for some reason or another. Fuuma wasn’t the only one who doubted the relationship was chosen on his free will. That only seemed to raise the question of why Kamui was suffering through it, he had his abilities still and they would be more than enough to overpower anyone who wished him harm. That was possibly an unsolvable mystery.

Fuuma sorely wanted to be the one to break it to the other that he needed to walk away. That he was acting like a girl in the sense that he couldn’t step away. He wouldn’t though. That was something best left to one of the closer friends, that girl he lived with perhaps.

The sound of water stopped.

He sighed slightly and picked up the two cups, sparing a lingering gaze to the darkening outside world. All he could do right now was simply offer a drink and shoulder to cry on, leave the difficult things to those former seals that he was still close to, or perhaps that boy who trailed him around the campus. This wasn’t something which involved him. Never had done in this instance and it never would if he could help it.

He’d provide an escape route for as long as the boy needed but he wouldn’t help with trying to fix him. That was simply the way things were set between them. A way out for a few hours without any strings attached.

That’s simply how it was and how it always would be, even if that wasn’t what he truly wanted.
