Easter Eggs/Jokes/ Meta References for Ch. 4 Mythology of Kings
So I was asked to make a list of the easter eggs and references in Ch. 4 so here it is.
In order for me to separate between the Study Group and the Next Generation Study Group’s Easter Eggs, I put in:

The Easter Eggs are presented as you read down the fiction.
Meta: The title is Mythology of Kings. Mythology is a body of myths or study of myths. This chapter focuses on a collection of Community episodes and all the Community fanfic made on my LiveJournal.
NG: And we’re back. This chapter starts off where chapter 3 ends.
Meta: The NG study group is based off of actors Elizabeth Gillies, Daniela Bobadilla, Ciara Bravo, Charlie Carver, and Joe Jo. Elizabeth and Ciara have both starred in Nickeloden TV sitcoms, Victorious and Big Time Rush respectively. Daniela, Elizabeth and Ciara have appeared on episodes of the Nickeloden TV show Big Time Rush during it’s run. Charlie is known for roles in Desperate Housewives and Teen Wolf. Charlie’s twin brother Max has appeared on Victorious. Joe is one of the founders of JustKiddingFilms which has a Youtube channel with the same name. Daniela is known for the role of Sam Goodson in FX’s Anger Management.

C/NG: Sorry for leaving you at your death bed but I’m back.” Jenna said. Callback to Side Story fic, Ch. 1 and G.I. Jeff, Jenna left to live with Jeff’s dad when Jeff was in the hospital.
C/NG: Why can’t we do something fun? Like paintball?” Leo asks. Reference to Modern Warface, Fist Full of Paintballs and For A Few Paintballs More. Also the fact that NG Study Group have not done paintball together.
C/NG: First official meeting of Jeff’s and Jenna’s Study Group.
NG: Britta is referencing the Intro to Parenting and Poker fic where she told Jenna to stand up to Jeff to have a bed instead of sleeping on a couch.
C: “She’s really is the worst.” Eric. Reference to Britta being called the worst by everyone.
Meta: Is this a study group? Does that make you guys a spinoff?” Abed said. The fact that this is a complete new study group puts it as a spinoff.
C/NG/Meta: The argument that is about to take place would change into each member of their respective study group arguing with the person that sits on their seats around the study table.
NG/Meta: “Actually, she’s 21.” Madison said. Retcon on Jenna’s age, she was introduce as being 17 but is actually 21 as proven in Ch. 3 when she bought the vegan scotch.
C: “Does every Winger lie about their age?” Britta asks. Joke on how Jeff’s age was changed from 35 to 40 in G.I. Jeff.
NG/Meta: Jenna is not a Winger. Jenna last name is King but is the daughter of Jeff King. Jeff King is the cousin of Jeff Winger. The origin of Jeff King is a possible joke as I found it on Wikipedia. As quoted on the Wikipedia page about Jeff Winger, “Jeff recently found out he had a cousin to the north, by the name of Jeff King.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Winger#Jeff_Winger
C/NG: “Scotch, Pool, Winger Speeches. Nope, not picturing her as Jeff with boobs.” Are examples of things that Jenna is able to do just like Jeff.
NG: “We’re not a TV show, Ella. Don’t be like Abed.” Jenna said. Ella Rumpskin aka Abed Nadir 2.0.
C: “Besides, you had a drug addiction.” Madison said pointing out Annie. Annie’s past is mentioned.
C: I think it’s interesting that you always come in to defend her, Jeff. Pretty soon she’ll have complete control over.” Jenna said. Reference to J/A ship.
C/NG: Jeff defends Annie and Jenna defends Madison in their argument. Reference to J/A and how that this has an affect to Jenna and Madison’s friendship.
C/NG: “Don’t talk to Shirley like that. You guys are the worst-” Brita said before Leo and Eric groans at her. Joke to how Britta can call them the worst because they are the Next Generation. Also Britta/Shirley vs Eric/Leo argument starts.
NG/Meta: “If this is a crossover?” Ella said as she looks at the Study Table. Ella is the only member that does not argue with her predecessor but starts to understand Abed’s mindset about the situation.
C: “I don’t know, Leo. I’m too busy complaining about it to my friends instead of doing anything about it.” Eric said. Callback to Spanish 101, as this was a major part of the Britta’s storyline in the episode.
C: “Oh you boys are this close to having your faces taste that wall.” Shirley said. Callback to Shirley’s past about putting a stripper face first into a jukebox.
C: “It’s a crossover. It’s a crossover. It’s a crossover.” Abed said as he starts to repeat himself. Callback to Abed acting robotically.
C: You can’t even enjoy the benefits of macaroni. I can if you didn’t eat it all. Callback to Jeff eating all the macaroni in Romantic Expressionism.
C/NG/Meta: “You guys are being ridiculous.” Annie said. Jeff and Jenna’s argument with each other doesn’t make sense seeing as Jenna is a vegan. Also they’re betrayal about being stab in the back does not make any sense at all to Annie.
Meta: “Same to you, dunderhead. Excuse me, what was that you little demon? References to Alison Brie’s work in Montana Amazon and Born.
Meta: “Oh, sorry how about I sing you two a song to make you feel better.” Jenna said. Reference to Elizabeth Gillies’s musical background.
C/Meta: “Something always brings me back to you.” Lyrics from Gravity by Sara Barellies. The song was used in a youtube video focusing on the Jeff/Annie U.S.T ship.
C/NG: Ella realizes what Abed means by crossover and leaves the room as everyone continues arguing with each other. She comes back with a fire extinguisher. She sprays everyone with it. Everyone stops arguing as they recover from the assault. Callback to Ella’s usage of fire extinguishers in Ch. 2 also a reference to Annie spraying everyone in Advanced Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
Meta: “The only reason a crossover would happen to us is because everything is about to go into complete chaos.” Ella said. The basic of what would cause a crossover event in comics. This crossover started because of Jenna’s issue with Jeff.
C: the library is officially close as of today due to a personal purchase by Hawthorne Wipes. It will now become the Memorial of Pierce Hawthorne shrine. Pierce is announced dead in Basic Intergluteal Numismatics.
Meta: “So it begins.” Abed said. The start of the call to action.
NG/Meta: “What’s the hell with the glove, Michael Jackson?” Jeff asks finally noticing Jenna’s gloved hand. Jenna puts her gloved hand in Jeff’s face. He gasps in disgust. “That is never coming off.” Jenna said. Michael Jackson reference. Jenna wears a glove on the right hand due to what happened in Ch. 2
Meta: “The parallels of each of us are amazing.” Ella said to Abed. “Does that mean you like to eat buttered noodles?” Abed asks. “I do.” Leo said, happily. “Okay never mind.” Ella said. Joke about how even though the study groups share the same seats with each other, they are different.
C: “I’m sorry guys but I had to. It’s for Pierce.” Dean Pelton said. An important reference to how much the Dean cares for the Study Group.
C: Reappearance of Gilbert Lawson.
C: “Gilbert!” Jeff’s group shouts in surprise. Callback to Paranormal Parentage.
Meta: “Who is this and how did we all not notice him when we came in?” Leo asks. Joke about how the story is written and not filmed. If it was filmed they would have notice Gilbert sitting in the office.
C: “Pierce’s accident happened because he filled canisters of his sperm and gave it to us.” Jeff said. The cause of Pierce’s death is mentioned in Cooperative Polygraphy.
C: “You guys got canisters of an old man’s sperm?” Ella asks. “And don’t use it?” Leo asks. Mention of the liquid nitrogen cooled cylinder from Cooperative Polygraphy and joke on why the Study Group would still have it in their possession.
C/Meta: “It’s been almost 4 months since Pierce died, and you’re doing this now?” Britta asks. This is a reference to the Study Group getting their bequeathments from Pierce in Cooperative Polygraphy. The episode aired on January 16, 2014. The fic that this was published is April, 26, 2014 which is about 100 days compared to an average of days for 4 months which is 122 days.
C: “This is Pierce we’re talking about here. You can’t trust anything he thinks. He thought I was gay.” Jeff said. “You’re not?” Gilbert asks. Jeff’s sexually is questioned because Gilbert is Pierce’s half-brother. Pierce would have told Gilbert that Jeff was gay.
C/NG/Meta: “Brett!” Jenna’s group shouts in surprise. Abed looks at the similarities of Brett and Eric. Call back to Paranormal Parentage. Brett is the twin brother of Eric. This is due to how the character of Eric being based on Charlie Carver. Charlie has a twin brother, Max Carver. Originally Brett was a part of NG, being the cause of the NG study group forming in ch.1 before leaving in ch. 2 due to fallout with the group. Ch. 2 was Eric’s first appearance as a Study Group member.
C/NG/Meta: “Your study group has evil twins? Cool, Cool, Cool, Cool.” Abed said. Reference to Abed’s quote from Basic Genealogy and the Darkest Timeline. The Evil Twin character is an antagonist that shares a physical similarly to a protagonist with inverted moralities. Unfortunately Brett does not have a goatee yet.
Meta: Brett Peters, and Gilbert Lawson. A brother of a member from each Study Group is shown to be the cause of the call to action.
C/NG: “I really need to get my taste of men in line.” Madison said. Madison created NG to get with Brett which shows she has a bad taste in men, just like Britta.
NG/Meta: “If he’s an architect, how come he needed our help in math?” Ella asks Madison. Ella questions why their study group formed if the target of Madison’s affection doesn’t need them in the first place.
Meta: “Why? Cause they’re not your friends, Jeff! We can be just as good as you guys.” Jenna said. “I’ll like to see you try.” Jeff said. Joke how nobody would care about this fic without Community.
Meta: “Guys! This is exactly like how a crossover goes. We meet, argue, join forces, and then celebrate together.” Abed said. The basic storyline to Marvel’s Secret Wars.
C/Meta: “Yeah, I don’t see Professor Hickey anywhere.” Shirley said. Professor Buzz Hickey is considered to be the replacement to Pierce as shown in Introduction to Teaching. Joke about how this can’t be a crossover without every main character appearing.
C/NG: “Maybe it’s because he’s spending time with his son playing Dungeons & Dragons instead of having a therapist babysit me.” Jenna remarks to Jeff. “I didn’t babysit you on that day.” Britta said. Callback to Advanced Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and Limbo Theory fic.
Meta: “You let six strangers into your life and you gave them more love than I ever got.” Jeff’s feeling for the Study Group.
C/NG/Meta: In the 50th anniversary of Inspector Spacetime, The Case of the Inspector, The Inspector meets not one but two previous incarnations of himself. Inspector Spacetime is homage to Doctor Who. The Case of the Inspector is homage to the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who, The Day of The Doctor.
C: Radiohead blonde is right. Britta followed Radiohead on tour before coming to Greendale.
NG/Meta: We don’t count. There was only one study group that everyone in this school cares about and they’re right there.” Eric said pointing out Jeff’s group. Joke about a Community spinoff especially with an unofficial spinoff like this. NG is a sidequel in nature.
C: We know them as the Save Greendale Committee. We need The Greendale Seven. The given names of the Study Group by Greendale Community College.
C/Meta: Seven strangers that came to study Spanish together became a family here. What Community is all about.
Meta: “What do you mean by all of us?” Abed asks. “I think she means us.” Leo said motioning to Jenna’s group. “No, she saying all of us like we need to get more people.” Abed said. Another joke on how this is written and not filmed.
Meta: “Time travel.” Ella said smiling. The homage to this fic.
C: “This story was pretty logical until this point.” Abed said. Callback to the Goonies quote in Basic Sandwich.
C/NG: Seriously if he said it you’ll all believe him, but if I said it you laugh your heads off.” Ella said pointing out Abed. Joke about how even though Ella is similar to Abed, people at Greendale would rather listen to Abed.
NG: “Because I didn’t want you to think you can stop your parents’ death.” Jenna’s parents are dead, which was the reason Jenna went to live with Jeff in the Human Development 101 fic.
C: Like throwing a dice can make six different timelines. Callback to Remedial Chaos Theory.
C/NG: Jeff and Jenna shrugs at Ella’s mention of other timelines. Family similarities, they don’t believe in other timelines.
NG: The flash drive is bright silver with a Greendale Community College logo on it. This flash drive was introduced in ch.3
Meta: Well, I was thinking about making a box but then everyone wouldn’t fit in it. Doctor Who TARDIS joke.
NG: Also this flash drive was dead until I found a way to reenergize it. Explained in ch. 3
NG: At least none of us are the worst. Joke how NG does not know who in their group is the worst yet.
C: “What if there is a way to go back and change a very important moment of our life?” Abed asks Jeff. “Would we not take the chance to fix it or continue on with our mistakes? If we do nothing, we still lose the study room. Help them and we might have a chance to continue on?” He asks. Winger Speech.
C: “Alright let’s do this.” Annie said. Reference to Annie’s leadership role from season 5.
C: “Guys, this is completely ridiculous. We don’t need to go back in time. We just need to convince Gilbert to not turn the room into Pierce’s shrine.” Jeff said. “Wow, he is very resisted.” Madison said. “And into anticlimax.” Abed said. Joke on Jeff’s lack of action and reference to Abed’s quote to Annie at the end of their time in the Dreamatorium in Virtual Systems Analysis .
Meta: Leo and Eric stripping down to their underwear. Fan service.
C/Meta: “Everyone knows you have to be naked to time travel.” Leo said. Reference to Terminator and Advanced Introduction to Finality.
Meta: Suddenly a flash of light comes off from the laptop. Because the Internet.
Meta: May 9th, 2013. The air date to Advanced Introduction to Finality.
C/NG/Meta: “On second thought, who needs to roll a die?” Quote from Advanced Introduction to Finality. Apparently not time travelers.
Meta: The only people that did not crash into the pile were Abed and Ella as they land on one of the couches. They were the only people that stayed braced for impact before the time travel.
C/NG/Meta: First Official Meeting of the Original Study Table, Troy Barnes and Pierce Hawthorne to NG and reappearances to the Study Group. First time there are past, present, and possible future members of the Study Groups in Study Room F are shown together.
C: “It’s us from the future. Hi, Future Abed.” Past-Abed said. “Hi, Past-Abed, Past-Troy.” Abed said. Time Travel is not a problem for Abed.
C/Meta: Wait, do any of you guys smell monkey gas? Callback to Biology 101. Gas leak year.
C/NG/Meta: We’re Greendale’s Next Generation. What? That’s what the school would probably call us. Foreshadowing. Greendale Seven is the name of the Study Group during Season 1-4, Save Greendale Committee during Season 5, and Greendale’s Next Generation will be the official name of Jenna’s Study Group given later in the chapters. All these titles are known throughout Greendale.
NG: I’m Jenna King, Jeff’s niece. The Greendale Seven will not know who she is because Human Development 101 fic, the fic where Jenna is introduced was made during season 5.
C: The past study group gasps. Callback to the group’s reaction about finding out about Jeff’s family members in Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations.
Meta: “Your group has strippers? Oh dear.” Past-Shirley asks looking at Eric and Leo. Fan service.
NG: They’re not that special. Also, she’s more of a problem then you think. Reference to how Jeff and Jenna’s relationship has been terrible throughout the fics.
C: the two Jeff’s smile at each other. “I knew it! Jeff traveled back in time to sleep with himself.” Past-Pierce shouts. Reference to Jeff’s love on his looks and Pierce on thinking Jeff is gay.
C/NG: “Eww, Pierce!” Everyone shouts out together except Jenna as she smiles at the remark. Good to hear that again. Also Jenna never met Pierce but it would be interesting to note that she might have like him as another father figure.
Meta: “Wait! Where’s future Troy and Pierce?” Past-Annie asks looking around. Reference to Season 5’s cast member departures of Chevy Chase and Donald Glover.
Meta: “Oh god! I died in the future and you guys came back in time to warn me!” Past-Troy screams in realization. This would make a good story prompt in the future.
C: I’m probably in an energon pod waiting to be reborn. Reference to Pierce’s religion the Reformed Neo Buddhism.
Meta: “Wow, was I a ditz this year.” Annie said. Joke about Annie’s characteristic in Season 4.
Meta: “Can we get back on topic here?” Eric asks. To quote River Song, “Spoilers.”
NG: It would have to be one of his friends that would change him to be responsible. This isn’t the first time that Jenna has tried to Changed Jeff’s life as shown in the Exploration in Forbidden Feelings fic.
NG/Meta: “Would Ella make the controls of her time machine similar to the Inspector Spacetime’s X7 Dimensionizer?” X7 Dimensionizer is homage to Doctor Who’s TARDIS. Jenna knows about Inspector Spacetime as shown in Human Development 101 when she pranked the group about the Inspector’s next regeneration.
C/NG: Seriously, none of you guys predicted that?” Joke on how there are three people that can predict the outcomes of things by observation not knowing that someone would try to steal the time machine.
C/NG/Meta: “Epic chase scene!” Eric, Leo, Abed, Past-Abed, and Past-Troy shout together proudly. Happy that there would be a chase scene and that they will be able to participate in it.
Meta: Sorry, we can’t have two Abeds running around. Time Travel joke.
C: Change as Kevin. Reappearance of Chang with Changnesia.
NG: Jenna went out on a date with Chang in the Exploration in Forbidden Feelings fic.
C: The students gather around Chang as Kevin as they try to help him. Chang with Changnesia would be the only time that other people would care about him this way as shown throughout Season 4.
NG: “She can’t. Believe me, I tried to stop something like that and it failed.” Ella said. Foreshadowing.
C/Meta: Oh, that’s easy. 2009.” Ella said. The two Jeff’s study groups become silent. “What day in 2009?” Past-Britta asks. “September 17th.” Ella said. “That’s the day we became a family.” Shirley said. The air date of Pilot and the beginning of the Study Group.
Meta: “She went back to kill us!” Past-Pierce shouts in horror. “Did this just become Terminator?” Past-Troy asks. Homage to Terminator.
Meta: The following conversation between the two Abeds and Ella is about the idea of timelines and would go into their situation of #sixseasonsandamovie and spinoffs.
Meta: Wilderness Years. Known as the period that BBC pulled the plug on Doctor Who in 1989 before Doctor Who was revived in 2005. During this period, the fans were able to take over the reign and a great deal of what New Who would become was forged. This is a reference on the Community fandom. If Community ever got canceled without an ending than it would be up to the fans to help Dan Harmon with the show.
C/Meta: So how is time traveling, different than timelines? Joke on how Jeff is okay with time travel but not on the idea of timelines.
Meta: If we wanted to argue, we would go on Reddit. Reference to http://www.reddit.com/r/community/.
C/Meta: “Wait, this is all an imagination. There are no future selves here. This is most likely created from our fear of Jeff leaving.” Past-Britta said. Everyone in the room groans. “Hey! She has a good point. This could all be-” Britta said before more groans drown her out. “Now we know what happens when two Brittas meet.” Past-Troy said. Britta’s therapist skills kick in. Also reference to Advanced Introduction to Finality. Fan service on what would happen with two Brittas annoying their study groups together.
Meta: the moment. The climax in this story. Also Annie’s secret.
Meta: “What’s the moment?” “Are we missing something important that happened back then?” Nobody but Annie knows about the moment meaning that it is a very important part of their stories.
NG: Unless she remembered it during that time I babysited her with Britta. Reference to Intro to Parenting and Poker fic.
NG: “No. All of us.” Madison said. She stands firmly in front of Jeff. “She may have caused a mess but we’ll forgive her because she’s our friend. She never would have done it in the first place if you had been nice to her. I don’t understand what your deal with her, Jeff. Do you see yourself in her or something?” Madison asks. Madison pulls out a Winger Speech.
C: He looks at his Annie, waiting patiently for his response. She’s giving him that look. Not the Disney face one, it’s her serious face. The look that makes Jeff wants to be a better man. J/A moment.
C: “But it did. You went to Greendale, met the most important people in your life and came back. You know how much good comes from here. This place is a magnet for people that are broken and it brings out the best in them. This place is more than just some community college. It’s a community. We have to learn to accept the people it brings here, because honestly we’ve all been there. You think none of us would go back and try to change a mistake in our life that we regret? You know perfectly well we would do it the first chance we get. My only regret is that I won’t use that chance to help anyone except myself. You may think she is selfish but you know perfectly well that she’s doing it not just for herself but for all of us. Bring her back so she can finally understand the real you.” Past-Jeff said. Winger Speech.
Meta: Madison hugs Past-Jeff in excitement. Past-Jeff looks confuse by her as the rest of the people in the room looks tense by this. Joke on how fans would react if Jeff meets a stranger and they got together instead of with Annie.
Meta: Okay, guess there are things that you can’t do with different study groups. Joke about the differences between the groups.
C: He walks up to Past-Troy. He looks at Past-Abed. Past-Abed nods. Abed and Past-Troy do their secret handshake. The return of their handshake.
C: “Aww.” Annie and Shirley said together. Running Gag on the show.
C: “What about a hologram?” Past-Pierce asks. Reference to Pierce’s cameo in Repilot.
Meta: Time for us to kill this Back To The Future homage. Past-Britta, if you ever have to say you want to kill a homage, make sure it isn’t something cool like Back To The Future. Jenna going back in time to get Jeff to be a better person is homage to Back To The Future. Also Abed makes a comment on if you want to bad homage then make sure the movie you pick is not a good movie.
C: You just that’s nice yourself. Reference to Abed’s go girled quote from English as a Second Language.
C/Meta: Let me have my victories, Past-Abed. She’s going to need them in the future. Joke about how inactive Shirley was in Season 5 compared to the others.
C/Meta: You might want to continue on with whatever you were doing like this never happened. There is no way anyone would believe you anyway. Also about the smell, blame it on a gas leak. Possible origins of the Gas Leak year explained.
Meta: September 17th, 2009. Airdate for Community’s Pilot.
C: The sound of Dean Pelton can be heard in the background as he addresses the students with an inspirational speech. Begging moments of Community.
Meta: Wow, does this place smells like 2009. Joke on how 2009 smells completely different than it would be in 2014.
C: “Jenna, I’m sorry but I could never replace your parents. They hold a special place in your heart and it was selfish of me to push you aside when you needed to be loved. I get it. We all do and I may have been a jerk about it but your family. We all are in our own way. These people right here will forgive you for any of your mistakes because they care about you and I never did. It’s time I change that. Come back. It’s time you get to know the real me. Please, Jenna.” Winger Speech.
NG: Jenna looks at Jeff for a moment. She runs to the bushes and hugs Jeff. She starts to cry. “That’s all I wanted to hear. Thank you.” Jenna said. Strange as it is the cause of their stranded family relationship is due to Jeff’s neglect in being involved with Jenna’s life. This comes to a conclusion here, ending their bad relationship.
Meta: The Young Annie takes her focus from where she is to look at the center of the campus grounds. There was a Young Jeff Winger walking away from a Young Abed. The Young Annie stops and smiles at the sight of the Young Jeff walk past her before taking her focus off of him as she continues to walks along her way. The moment is reveal to be Annie looking at Jeff for the first time at Greendale Community College.
Meta: 0.01 second after the two groups left together to time travel to the past. Joke on how time travelers can leave and then reappear like nothing has happened.
Meta: Eric and Leo are in their underwear again. Fan service.
Meta: Don’t be jealous that we have beautiful abs. Reference about Charlie Carver shirtless moments during his role in MTV’s Teen Wolf.
Meta: Is anyone else feeling that those flashes reminds you of those lens flares in all those Star Trek movies J.J. Abrams made? Star Trek reference, also J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek also had a time travel storyline involving two Spocks.
C: But he already has one there. Reference to Repilot.
C: it good to know my brother was right about you, Gay Lawyer friend. Jeff’s sexuality questioned by the family members of Pierce.
C/NG: “It’s for the best, really. I think I realize that we don’t have to hold on to the past in order to accept ourselves and we should just keep moving onwards in life because that’s really is the best thing to do. Besides I can’t trust anyone with this kind of thing in a place like this.” Ella said. Winger Speech.

C: I’ll get Startburns to get the stereo. Reference to Starburns playing Dave Matthew on a stereo in Basic Sotry and Basic Sandwiches.
C: Does anyone smell gas? I thought we fixed that. Reference to Basic Story on how they fixed the gas leak.
C: Wouldn’t time travel involve hamburgers? References to Professor Buzz Hickey’s rant about Abed in Bondage and Beta Male Sexuality.
C/NG: “Abed. Don’t worry about it. We exist to question everything. That’s what makes us such an important part of our groups. Meta: The NG study group is based off of actors Elizabeth Gillies, Daniela Bobadilla, Ciara Bravo, Charlie Carver, and Joe Jo. Elizabeth and Ciara have both starred in Nickeloden TV sitcoms, Victorious and Big Time Rush respectively. Daniela, Elizabeth and Ciara have appeared on episodes of the Nickeloden TV show Big Time Rush during it’s run. Charlie is known for roles in Desperate Housewives and Teen Wolf. Charlie’s twin brother Max has appeared on Victorious. Joe is one of the founders of JustKiddingFilms which has a Youtube channel with the same name. Daniela is known for the role of Sam Goodson in FX’s Anger Management.

C: “I don’t know, Leo. I’m too busy complaining about it to my friends instead of doing anything about it.” Eric said. Callback to Spanish 101, as this was a major part of the Britta’s storyline in the episode.
C: “Oh you boys are this close to having your faces taste that wall.” Shirley said. Callback to Shirley’s past about putting a stripper face first into a jukebox.

C/NG: Ella realizes what Abed means by crossover and leaves the room as everyone continues arguing with each other. She comes back with a fire extinguisher. She sprays everyone with it. Everyone stops arguing as they recover from the assault. Callback to Ella’s usage of fire extinguishers in Ch. 2 also a reference to Annie spraying everyone in Advanced Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
Meta: “The only reason a crossover would happen to us is because everything is about to go into complete chaos.” Ella said. The basic of what would cause a crossover event in comics. This crossover started because of Jenna’s issue with Jeff.
C: the library is officially close as of today due to a personal purchase by Hawthorne Wipes. It will now become the Memorial of Pierce Hawthorne shrine. Pierce is announced dead in Basic Intergluteal Numismatics.
Meta: “So it begins.” Abed said. The start of the call to action.
NG/Meta: “What’s the hell with the glove, Michael Jackson?” Jeff asks finally noticing Jenna’s gloved hand. Jenna puts her gloved hand in Jeff’s face. He gasps in disgust. “That is never coming off.” Jenna said. Michael Jackson reference. Jenna wears a glove on the right hand due to what happened in Ch. 2
Meta: “The parallels of each of us are amazing.” Ella said to Abed. “Does that mean you like to eat buttered noodles?” Abed asks. “I do.” Leo said, happily. “Okay never mind.” Ella said. Joke about how even though the study groups share the same seats with each other, they are different.
C: “I’m sorry guys but I had to. It’s for Pierce.” Dean Pelton said. An important reference to how much the Dean cares for the Study Group.

C: “Gilbert!” Jeff’s group shouts in surprise. Callback to Paranormal Parentage.
Meta: “Who is this and how did we all not notice him when we came in?” Leo asks. Joke about how the story is written and not filmed. If it was filmed they would have notice Gilbert sitting in the office.
C: “Pierce’s accident happened because he filled canisters of his sperm and gave it to us.” Jeff said. The cause of Pierce’s death is mentioned in Cooperative Polygraphy.
C: “You guys got canisters of an old man’s sperm?” Ella asks. “And don’t use it?” Leo asks. Mention of the liquid nitrogen cooled cylinder from Cooperative Polygraphy and joke on why the Study Group would still have it in their possession.
C/Meta: “It’s been almost 4 months since Pierce died, and you’re doing this now?” Britta asks. This is a reference to the Study Group getting their bequeathments from Pierce in Cooperative Polygraphy. The episode aired on January 16, 2014. The fic that this was published is April, 26, 2014 which is about 100 days compared to an average of days for 4 months which is 122 days.
C: “This is Pierce we’re talking about here. You can’t trust anything he thinks. He thought I was gay.” Jeff said. “You’re not?” Gilbert asks. Jeff’s sexually is questioned because Gilbert is Pierce’s half-brother. Pierce would have told Gilbert that Jeff was gay.
C/NG/Meta: “Brett!” Jenna’s group shouts in surprise. Abed looks at the similarities of Brett and Eric. Call back to Paranormal Parentage. Brett is the twin brother of Eric. This is due to how the character of Eric being based on Charlie Carver. Charlie has a twin brother, Max Carver. Originally Brett was a part of NG, being the cause of the NG study group forming in ch.1 before leaving in ch. 2 due to fallout with the group. Ch. 2 was Eric’s first appearance as a Study Group member.
C/NG/Meta: “Your study group has evil twins? Cool, Cool, Cool, Cool.” Abed said. Reference to Abed’s quote from Basic Genealogy and the Darkest Timeline. The Evil Twin character is an antagonist that shares a physical similarly to a protagonist with inverted moralities. Unfortunately Brett does not have a goatee yet.
Meta: Brett Peters, and Gilbert Lawson. A brother of a member from each Study Group is shown to be the cause of the call to action.
C/NG: “I really need to get my taste of men in line.” Madison said. Madison created NG to get with Brett which shows she has a bad taste in men, just like Britta.
NG/Meta: “If he’s an architect, how come he needed our help in math?” Ella asks Madison. Ella questions why their study group formed if the target of Madison’s affection doesn’t need them in the first place.
Meta: “Why? Cause they’re not your friends, Jeff! We can be just as good as you guys.” Jenna said. “I’ll like to see you try.” Jeff said. Joke how nobody would care about this fic without Community.
Meta: “Guys! This is exactly like how a crossover goes. We meet, argue, join forces, and then celebrate together.” Abed said. The basic storyline to Marvel’s Secret Wars.
C/Meta: “Yeah, I don’t see Professor Hickey anywhere.” Shirley said. Professor Buzz Hickey is considered to be the replacement to Pierce as shown in Introduction to Teaching. Joke about how this can’t be a crossover without every main character appearing.
C/NG: “Maybe it’s because he’s spending time with his son playing Dungeons & Dragons instead of having a therapist babysit me.” Jenna remarks to Jeff. “I didn’t babysit you on that day.” Britta said. Callback to Advanced Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and Limbo Theory fic.

Inspector Spacetime is homage to Doctor Who. The Case of the Inspector is homage to the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who, The Day of The Doctor.

C/Meta: Seven strangers that came to study Spanish together became a family here. What Community is all about.
Meta: “What do you mean by all of us?” Abed asks. “I think she means us.” Leo said motioning to Jenna’s group. “No, she saying all of us like we need to get more people.” Abed said. Another joke on how this is written and not filmed.

C: “This story was pretty logical until this point.” Abed said. Callback to the Goonies quote in Basic Sandwich.

NG: “Because I didn’t want you to think you can stop your parents’ death.” Jenna’s parents are dead, which was the reason Jenna went to live with Jeff in the Human Development 101 fic.

C/NG: Jeff and Jenna shrugs at Ella’s mention of other timelines. Family similarities, they don’t believe in other timelines.
NG: The flash drive is bright silver with a Greendale Community College logo on it. This flash drive was introduced in ch.3
Meta: Well, I was thinking about making a box but then everyone wouldn’t fit in it. Doctor Who TARDIS joke.
NG: Also this flash drive was dead until I found a way to reenergize it. Explained in ch. 3
NG: At least none of us are the worst. Joke how NG does not know who in their group is the worst yet.
C: “What if there is a way to go back and change a very important moment of our life?” Abed asks Jeff. “Would we not take the chance to fix it or continue on with our mistakes? If we do nothing, we still lose the study room. Help them and we might have a chance to continue on?” He asks. Winger Speech.
C: “Alright let’s do this.” Annie said. Reference to Annie’s leadership role from season 5.
C: “Guys, this is completely ridiculous. We don’t need to go back in time. We just need to convince Gilbert to not turn the room into Pierce’s shrine.” Jeff said. “Wow, he is very resisted.” Madison said. “And into anticlimax.” Abed said. Joke on Jeff’s lack of action and reference to Abed’s quote to Annie at the end of their time in the Dreamatorium in Virtual Systems Analysis .
Meta: Leo and Eric stripping down to their underwear. Fan service.

Meta: The only people that did not crash into the pile were Abed and Ella as they land on one of the couches. They were the only people that stayed braced for impact before the time travel.
C/NG/Meta: First Official Meeting of the Original Study Table, Troy Barnes and Pierce Hawthorne to NG and reappearances to the Study Group. First time there are past, present, and possible future members of the Study Groups in Study Room F are shown together.
C: “It’s us from the future. Hi, Future Abed.” Past-Abed said. “Hi, Past-Abed, Past-Troy.” Abed said. Time Travel is not a problem for Abed.
C/Meta: Wait, do any of you guys smell monkey gas? Callback to Biology 101. Gas leak year.
C/NG/Meta: We’re Greendale’s Next Generation. What? That’s what the school would probably call us. Foreshadowing. Greendale Seven is the name of the Study Group during Season 1-4, Save Greendale Committee during Season 5, and Greendale’s Next Generation will be the official name of Jenna’s Study Group given later in the chapters. All these titles are known throughout Greendale.
NG: I’m Jenna King, Jeff’s niece. The Greendale Seven will not know who she is because Human Development 101 fic, the fic where Jenna is introduced was made during season 5.
C: The past study group gasps. Callback to the group’s reaction about finding out about Jeff’s family members in Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations.
Meta: “Your group has strippers? Oh dear.” Past-Shirley asks looking at Eric and Leo. Fan service.
NG: They’re not that special. Also, she’s more of a problem then you think. Reference to how Jeff and Jenna’s relationship has been terrible throughout the fics.

Meta: “Oh god! I died in the future and you guys came back in time to warn me!” Past-Troy screams in realization. This would make a good story prompt in the future.
C: I’m probably in an energon pod waiting to be reborn. Reference to Pierce’s religion the Reformed Neo Buddhism.
Meta: “Wow, was I a ditz this year.” Annie said. Joke about Annie’s characteristic in Season 4.

NG/Meta: “Would Ella make the controls of her time machine similar to the Inspector Spacetime’s X7 Dimensionizer?” X7 Dimensionizer is homage to Doctor Who’s TARDIS. Jenna knows about Inspector Spacetime as shown in Human Development 101 when she pranked the group about the Inspector’s next regeneration.
C/NG: Seriously, none of you guys predicted that?” Joke on how there are three people that can predict the outcomes of things by observation not knowing that someone would try to steal the time machine.

Meta: The following conversation between the two Abeds and Ella is about the idea of timelines and would go into their situation of #sixseasonsandamovie and spinoffs.
Meta: Wilderness Years. Known as the period that BBC pulled the plug on Doctor Who in 1989 before Doctor Who was revived in 2005. During this period, the fans were able to take over the reign and a great deal of what New Who would become was forged. This is a reference on the Community fandom. If Community ever got canceled without an ending than it would be up to the fans to help Dan Harmon with the show.
C/Meta: So how is time traveling, different than timelines? Joke on how Jeff is okay with time travel but not on the idea of timelines.

C/Meta: “Wait, this is all an imagination. There are no future selves here. This is most likely created from our fear of Jeff leaving.” Past-Britta said. Everyone in the room groans. “Hey! Also reference to Advanced Introduction to Finality. Fan service on what would happen with two Brittas annoying their study groups together.

Meta: “What’s the moment?” “Are we missing something important that happened back then?” Nobody but Annie knows about the moment meaning that it is a very important part of their stories.
NG: Unless she remembered it during that time I babysited her with Britta. Reference to Intro to Parenting and Poker fic.
NG: “No. All of us.” Madison said. She stands firmly in front of Jeff. “She may have caused a mess but we’ll forgive her because she’s our friend. She never would have done it in the first place if you had been nice to her. I don’t understand what your deal with her, Jeff. Do you see yourself in her or something?” Madison asks. Madison pulls out a Winger Speech.
C: He looks at his Annie, waiting patiently for his response. She’s giving him that look. Not the Disney face one, it’s her serious face. The look that makes Jeff wants to be a better man. J/A moment.
C: “But it did. You went to Greendale, met the most important people in your life and came back. You know how much good comes from here. This place is a magnet for people that are broken and it brings out the best in them. This place is more than just some community college. It’s a community. We have to learn to accept the people it brings here, because honestly we’ve all been there. You think none of us would go back and try to change a mistake in our life that we regret? You know perfectly well we would do it the first chance we get. My only regret is that I won’t use that chance to help anyone except myself. You may think she is selfish but you know perfectly well that she’s doing it not just for herself but for all of us. Bring her back so she can finally understand the real you.” Past-Jeff said. Winger Speech.
Meta: Madison hugs Past-Jeff in excitement. Past-Jeff looks confuse by her as the rest of the people in the room looks tense by this. Joke on how fans would react if Jeff meets a stranger and they got together instead of with Annie.
Meta: Okay, guess there are things that you can’t do with different study groups. Joke about the differences between the groups.
C: He walks up to Past-Troy. He looks at Past-Abed. Past-Abed nods. Abed and Past-Troy do their secret handshake. The return of their handshake.

Meta: Time for us to kill this Back To The Future homage. Past-Britta, if you ever have to say you want to kill a homage, make sure it isn’t something cool like Back To The Future. Also Abed makes a comment on if you want to bad homage then make sure the movie you pick is not a good movie.
