walkin' and talkin'

Oct 01, 2005 03:29

got back form a walk a few hours ago - and wow, what a walk that was. First, we realized that it was cold, and I insisted that we head back into the dorm so I could chance from my sweater into my hoodie. That turned out to be a very good idea. James also wanted to head over to his suite to get his leather jacket... And we also did that... But before we could get to Baker hall, we were stopped outside Kurtz by Jennifer, who was trying to remember James' name... She's a very interesting RHC... She wasn't able to get James' last name, but with the help of his initials, she was able to remember his first name.

It wasn't too long before we ended up over at Baker hall, it was the first time that I've been into Baker hall, let alone B 156, this year. That room is so very bare... There's nearly nothing in the living room. I thought our room was bare, and we have a couch and an entertainment center... And James doesn't seem to like his roommate (Cody) very much... Hehe, I think they hate one another actually.

We ended up taking an enjoyable stole up S. Washington St - James and I talked about Chris Manning - a cute English teacher on campus. Hehe, I've never had the oportunity to talk to him, nor have I have a class with him, but he always seems to be an interesting guy... At least, from afar.

As we walked, I was able to distract James long enough as we neared the "steeple house" to freak him out (I had him looking at the "fore sale" sign that was on that house, and he didn't realize that it was the "steeple house" - hehe, that was actually unintentional - but with interesting results ^_^).

As we walked toward Curwood, we didn't get very far... We got stopped by a train crossing S. Washington. The train was slowing, so it took forever for it to pass us. But I didn't mind, I like seeing trains up close like that anyway ^_^ - I told James that I wouldn't let him jump onto the train though... It's just too dangerious.

Once the train passed, we decided to head to Curwood bridge, where we usually hang out and talk for a while before actually doing much walking. This time, as we approached the bridge - we decided to stop by the river and sit just inches from the water on some stone steps. We just sat there and talked about anything and watched the water flow, it was a delightful scene.

We were near the bridge when we were on the steps, but by the time we got close enough to see the bridge, we could see that there was a bunch of kids playing at one end of it... It looked like some sword fight thing - and I didn't want to deal with a bunch of kids with wooden swords, so we headed out into town.

We wondered around aimlessly for about half an hour or so, walking all around Owosso. We eventually ended up coming back to Curwood bridge from the other side of the park. The little kids were gone, so we took our usual location at the center of the bridge. James sat and looked at some graffiti that was on the bridge - something about "I *heart* Jim --something-- Touch Him and Die" -- creepy stalker.

That's when James was almost run over by a bike. He was laying on the bridge (wearing dark jeans and a leather jacket) when a cyclist came along and I told James to get up before he got run over. He got out of the way just before the biker would have ran him over. Since we were just sitting there being quite and not really moving, I'm not sure if the cyclist saw him or not.

James and I ended up standing on the bridge singing various songs - from Red Hot Chili Peppers to -whatever. We were just having a good ol' time. It wasn't long before some people started heading our way... One group passed us on the bridge and said, "Yo, Jeffers!" - apparently, James looks like this "Jeffers" character. It's a good thing that they didn't do much more than get the name wrong... This young man also informed us that if James was Jeffers, that he was going to be tossed into the river. That comment made James a little agitated, to say the least.

It wasn't long before he calmed down though, and things got back to normal. It was around this time that James and I started our usual play-fighting routine... It can get a little rough some times, but it's usually fun ^_^ - usually. James even tried to pick me up and carry me across the bridge at one point... But I'm a too "rolly-polly" for him to carry... I'm not quite sure how to take that comment, but he said it wasn't derogatory, so I guess it works for me.

We ended up walking around town afterward, like we've been doing lately... I wanted to stop at the ATM to cash a check -- damn ATM doesn't have a pen though, and I always forget to bring mine on these walks.

As we walked, we saw several cops pass us by - and suddenly, while we were by that bank, a state trooper did a yuey and paralled parked right next to us. The trooper didn't seem interested in us though, there was another group of guys walking behind us a ways, and she seemed more interested in what they were doing. She got out of her car and started talking to them in a bit of a loud tone. I guess they were doing something that they shouldn't have been doing!

At this point, I figured that we had been walking around for long enough, and it was about time to be getting back to the dorm, so we headed off back to Baker... By the time we were well onto S. Washington St, James wanted to turn to head west - toward M52. I knew why he wanted to do that - he didn't want to cross that "steeple house" again... I pestered him, but just a little. As soon as he crossed the street, I turned and headed toward M52.

We ended up running into a dog and oddly enough at 11:00 PM we also ran into a group of little kids playing near the road... I didn't really realize it until a few minute later, but these were little kids playing unsupervised at 11 PM.... That bothered me. I believe that the parents were near by though...

We ended up splitting up at the main gate of the college - him heading toward Baker hall (west side of campus) and me to Kurtz hall (east side of campus).

Just...take...the...fucking...flower...darling. The Mixed Messenger apologizes again.

You're looking for love, but you'll always maintain your independence. You're prepared for a real commitment, but it's also likely that you're ambitious, which creates a certain romantic tension and ambivalence within you. So although you can be very affectionate to someone, you are also capable of pulling some dubious shit.

Your exact opposite:

Random Gentle Sex Master
In a relationship, you're usually the emotional leader. With your friends, you're a little bit more part of the pack. You're well-liked but you're not the uninhibited type, so the spotlight's often on someone else. In both social and romantic situations, however, you almost always get what you want. Influencing people is something you do very well.
