It started with "having to pause the anime because Sakurai-chan is just tooooo cute!" (I was watching すずく [Suzuku] at the time). And then, I was just perusing my LJ friends page (while listening to the Inu Yasha OST) and realized that I had a really big smile on. And while reading through things, I suddenly realized that I was tearing up! Tearing up! Just like that, for no reason while reading the f'list and smiling like crazy.
Then, it all melted away as fast as it came on... back to my usual "indifferent" face.
That was totally odd.
Linux
Wow, it's really hard to believe that I'm using Linux as my primary operating system... I usually only head over to Miki-ni to check my email - which I haven't imported over to Suzi-LNX yet (I'll do that once I'm settled in with Linux). It's not really possible to import my Hotmail via Outlook though - I guess I'll have to keep checking that through Windows or Web Based. Oh well.
I decided to upgrade to SUSE 10 RC1 to see if that helps out with some of the odd issues that I've having in SUSE - although, I'm not sure if it'll be any help at all (and it could make things worse!) I'm downloading it over in Windows right now (BitComet seems to be better at managing torrents than the Linux counter parts - at least for now). I kind of don't want to screw things up, but living without a CD drive that auto mounts is troublesome to say the least. I still wonder about that damn flash drive too...
Other than that, things are pretty much running well! amaroK has replaced WinAmp pretty well - accept for the whole "not being able to play video" part - I was just getting used to having WinAmp just randomly start up my music video collection as if it was just another MP3. Ah well, I used WinAmp for a long time without my music videos mixed in, I think I can live without it in amaroK.
I'm loving the extra options of Linux - In a lot of applications, I have the ability to disable items like the Menu Bar (ie: the "File, Edit, View...etc" bar) and the title bar (ie: the "_ [] and X" bar) and loose nearly 0 functionality (I believe this is all KDE's doings)
The only real problem I'm having is memory leaks - I think. I'm having a difficult time finding a program that will show me my RAM and CPU usage. top (the command) works okay, but I wonder if it's accurate - I remember talking to Tim about it ages ago, and he was telling me about it's inaccurate representation of RAM. I've also had some minor issues with KSysGuard - although, that may just be that I'm not used to reading it's displays... Either that, or I have some application that is seriously leaking my RAM - I keep getting up in the 900 MB used range - which should be unlikely, seeing as how I'm doing the same things here on Suzi-LNX as I was doing on Experiment8 - and Experiment8 only has 576 MB of PC100 ram and a 1.0 Ghz processor, and things were running fine over there (and also got up to around 90 to 95% ram usage I believe). I'm wondering if it's just some ghost reports or if it's part of KDE that's just reserving RAM or something *pulling at straws here*

I was looking though "K Menu\System\Monitor" and found memory (aka: Configure. Command: "kcmshell memory"). Memory lists my "total memory" (swap + ram), "physical memory" (ram), and swap (virtual memory - hdd). I noticed that my physical memory was occupied with "30% Application Data" and "60% Disk Cache" leaving 10% free.
I thought, "hmmm - Disk Cache... I don't think that really counts as using the ram exactly... I just happened to mouse over the graph, and it right out told me "Having a large amount of disk cache and a small amount of free memory is a sign of a well configured system." - Well, that settles it, the system isn't running with 90% of my ram used, it's running with 30% - it's just that I'm not used to my OS reporting the disk cache... Windows never did (that I know of) and my ol' Mac never did (that I can remember).
I remember something from one of my previous MCSE classes that talked about a similar concept - but I dond't remember that very clearly... But, I guess this solves (or at least explains) my memory usage. w00t?

Well, back to the アニメ!!
BTW: I'm also working on the SKIM (the IME I'm using in SUSE) - it's acting a little weird at times, and sometimes has trouble coming up with the correct kanji - although, that could be just nothing (Windows' IME does that sometimes too).
P.S. I love this icon! He's just so -- "Mmmmm!" ya know? ^_^
