I hate this assignment.
The Assignment (details)
1. Exercise 4.1 on page 213
(regarding "social justice at home" - as in affirmative action)
In this exercise, you will practice the skill of gathering information. The facts that are relevant to the solution of our problem include those just mentioned as well as other common sense and scientific facts. List any additional factual questions you think are important, then search for answers to them and the questions presented earlier.
Response
Would an underutilization of African Americans and women on the highest executive levels of private corporations mean that they are not capable of doing the job?

Do SAT scores really predict success in college?

Do written exams best predict the success of a person as a police officer?
(I must say "WTF?!" to this question - and I have to research it)

Do black police officers working in predominantly black neighborhoods serve more effectively than white officers who score higher on such tests?
(another police question - sigh)

How well do minorities do in college or professional schools when they have been admitted with lower scores than their competitors?
(at least this is the last question form this damn group...)

2. Exercise 9.1 on page 250 (regarding social justice abroad - i.e. world hunger)
Most of the possible solutions discussed in previous chapters of this text have been provided for you. It is now your turn to come up with your own. … For this exercise, focus first on yourself as you answer question (a). Then turn to question (b). Remember, you are not asking what would be nice, or kind, or charitable for you or your country to eliminate the misery of those in developing nations.

-- Honestly, I have no clue what they are talking about here..... Question A? Question B? Where are these elusive questions A and B?!? Am I supposed to make up my own questions? I'm so confused.

Since this assignment is due tonight, I'm going to have to look at other people's work to see what the heck is going on... Hopefully, I'll be able to figure things out by doing that
