I just thought I'd post to say 'ello... It's been quite the uneventful week. Spent mucho hours at work, got paid for it, and then used all of that money (accept for $22) for rent.... And then I did the evil thing, I went to Wal-Mart and spent $126 on various items! I got new sheets for my bed, so it's navy blue now... Which fits better with my room's tone. I also bought another candle, "Ocean" scented. When I first opened it, the scent filled the room without me ever lighting it! I can't wait to actually try it out, but I'm forcing myself to wait until my "Waterfall" candle burns out.
I've been doing a lot of crap for my online class, but it seems that it's still not enough... I've gotta get started on a 8 to 10 page paper here really soon, but I'm even behind in the reading of my text book, and how the heck can I get to a Library when I'm working 40 hrs a week. I guess I'll just have to make time for it somehow. I know the campus library is open until 9pm, but that is during the regular term. I'm not so sure that still applies during summer quarter.
Work has been going fairly well. I've had a few odd customers... One grandmother-type who was on the phone with me (after I had finished her computer) we were talking about the problems she's been having, and at one point in the conversation, she just switched gears and said, "Where do you live hon?" I tried to think of what I should say in regards to that! Customers knowing where I live is a bad thing, but I wasn't sure what her reasons for asking me that were! Quickly, I decided a generic answer would be the best way to go about it, saying "In Owosso." She sounded disappointed, and said something about hoping that I lived over by such-and-such a place so I could just stop by and set up their computer's dial up Internet. Since it sounded like she was hoping that I'd say that I'd be able to drop by anyway, I quickly snubbed that idea by saying, "Unfortunately, my transportation is limited to the Owosso area." She then wanted to bring her computer into the store on Monday (closed for the fourth of July holiday). She wasn't too happy to hear that we wouldn't be open until Wednesday, and said that they would stop by then.
I think she screwed up her Internet access herself anyway... While I was on the phone with her, she said: "There's too many numbers in here, I'll just get rid of one." And before I could say, "That's the way it's supposed to be!" She had deleted it and couldn't figure out how to restore it. ~sigh.
Ahh well, enough venting.
I downloaded SUSE 10.1 Final Release last night... I'm thinking about installing it to my laptop... The OS on there right now is Windows 2000 Professional, last installed back in May of 2002! There are so many problems with the install right now... It's LSP database cannot be loaded to edit it for some reason, but it still can be loaded for the OS to apply my user rights assignments! I don't understand. Also, with it's on and off use over the years, the system's getting a little flaky. The only problem is that I'll still need access to my USB wireless adapter. And if I install SUSE 10.1, there is a decent chance that I won't be able to get that thing running. I'm half thinking about getting a new laptop (debating between ordering an Acer via CyberMedics or a MacBook via Apple's online store). Since I don't have a Mac to play around with, it would be nice to get a MacBook, but they are so expensive! And to make matters worse, my current laptop (a Dell Inspiron 2600 - dubbed "Miki-chan") is still quite functional, it just really needs a new OS installation. Oiii, it's soo annoying.
Well, time to be off to resume my online homework stuff. ~sigh.
