I just over booked my weekend... ~sigh. I'm supposed to go up north with Steve, but my parents are also planning on coming up this weekend. Steve and I just planned this "memorial weekend" camp out to the U.P. earlier this week, but my parents have been hankering to come up to Owosso for a while now (since it's been seven weeks since I've seen them in person). ~sigh.
Grrr, I'm not sure what I want to do. My parents were a little flaky on their plans, so I've emailed them to get a definitive answer (the sooner, the better). I'll call them sometime in the afternoon to make sure I get a prompt response (either over the phone, or via email).
I called about five apartment places in Owosso (in a twenty minute time period between being ready for work and leaving for work):
Place 1: Corlett Creek: No Answer
Place 2: Orchard Creek Manor: Voice Mail
Place 3: Stony Creek Village: 55 and over only! (damn Internet, not telling me everything I need to know)
Place 4: Kingswood Estates: No Answer
Place 5: Penbrook Apartments: Income based and six month waiting list... Not happenin'
I also have on my list:
Place 6: Dor-Ray Apartments, but I have yet to call them...
beliah mentioned not to go with Tait Apartment or Durray... I'm wondering if Dor-ray is just a bad spelling of Durray.... So I've been leery of calling them.
Oh, and after I called Penbrook, I re-called Corlett Creek, Orchard Creek, and Kingswood. The latter two didn't answer, but I did get a call into Corlett... Of which I'm shooting to tour Wednesday early-afternoon.
Also, at work today, I mentioned that I was in need of an apartment, and my boss, Don, said that he's going to be buying the apartment and the store front which currently is K.O.K. Productions, and will be able to rent the apartment to me by June 1.
Both Don's place and Corlett Creek sound pretty sweet, but Steve and I want to tour the place this Wednesday so we can get the paperwork started on one of them. Don's would probably be the easiest place to get into... But Corlett Creek has other dorm students and I know several people there already... Whereas Don's apartment would be a bit more isolated, but a little closer to campus.
Also on Tuesday: I have to call Candlewick and cancel our hold on the modular. It's kind of sad, but also it's kind of good to be out of that whole situation... The difficulty in getting a 3-bedroom place, the problems of finding a replacement for Dex, and the concerns of Steve and I being left with a $650 a month rent that doesn't include a single utility.
I think I'm really ready to sit back in my apartment and relax.
CLASSES... AHHHHHHH!!! *bashes head into something rock hard*
I got registered for summer and fall classes... Since it's always difficult to post all that info, I took two screenshots! Here they are (B'n'W for size minimization).
Summer Classes:
Notice how they are all online... That could easily suck or rock, depending (depending... the 400-level one easily could... I'm hoping that the 200-level one won't though).
Fall Classes:
No computer classes for Fall Quarter....
THIS IS GONNA SUCK!!!
Both of those class set-ups are so I can be at work for more hours... I'm just hoping that it'll work out in the end for me... *prays to the gods of big paychecks*
So, that wasn't so much of a quickie...
Well, it is off to bed with me... I must get up fairly early tomorrow so I can call those other apartment places, call Candlewick (to cancel) and maybe I'll be able to do some homework in there sometime. ~sigh.
