6:03pm up 3:37
Translation: At 6:03 pm, the system has been running for 3 hrs 37 minutes.
Last night, my media protocol died. It's only happened once before, and it's a simple fix: restart the computer. But it's SUSE LINUX! I must not restart! If I could only figure out what service needed restarting, I'd be good: but I have yet to figure that out. More research must be done, but I shall figure it out one day!
BTW: just before I rebooted, I checked my uptime, which was in the 44 day zone, and I consider anything over 30 to be sweet, anything over 45 is damn sweet - but I missed that by a smiggen. I've made it up to 330 days before (confirmed) and an additional 30 beyond that (unconfirmed) -- and that system shut down when the east-coast black-out hit a few years ago.
Steve and I are pretty much giving up on Candlewick... There just isn't enough time for us to get another roommate and get everything done by the end of the week... Especially when our alternative thrid person fell through. That leaves us with... right around 26 days to get another place... It's gonna be stressful, but we've got some connections, and we may just get in under the line.
Also, that damn paper for ITS491 sucks major. I'm still at the two page area, and I need a rough-draft (of at least 10 pages, preferably 15) by next week this time. I can do it, it's just that it's so difficult writing about this stuff... Creating an imaginary company and talking about how I need to upgrade their network. Oiii, it's so easy to loose track of where I am and where I have to go with the paper.
