This week I was reminded I am not 25 anymore and no matter how much I convince myself, I cannot get by on 6 hours of sleep. A quote about treating yourself like a precious object hit a nerve with me and Nelson's Mandela's quote about how it is our light, not out darkness that most frightens us hit an even bigger nerve. It was a busy week and I'm glad to have the weekend to relax. I might have to go for a hike tomorrow.
Next week is going to be busy. I have a phone interview with the YWCA for a communications position on Friday and a babysitting gig that night. Who knew I would be 36 and babysitting? I love it! Next someone will hire me to shovel their walkway. Or not.
I spent most of the day Friday pounding the pavement and handing out fliers and postcards for a workshop I'm helping market. My friend Pam is coming to town at the end of the month to conduct a Marketing For Small Businesses workshop. If you local and are a writer, artist, small business owner, whatever, come to this event. It's priced to sell and this not just three hours of listening to someone yammer about what they can do for you. Pam will knock your socks off and give you a personalize plan to help you succeed.
Gawd. I sound like a brochure. Go here for more information and to make me look good:
