Belated holiday cheer

Christmas is over. The wrapping paper is in the recycling bin and I'm waiting for the internet radio stations to realize it is no longer xmas and stop playing xmas music.

We had a nice relaxing week and I didn't really do much. I'll try to be more productive next week but I can't guarantee anything. Ian and I celebrated the solstice by having a fabulous dinner at The Farm Cafe. It has gotten mixed reviews in the past but we really liked it. The food was seasonal and well-priced. We chatted with a few people who sat near us who told us they were regulars. Future guests at The Alexander Haus will be brought there for a good meal.

Here's a picture of Ian. Please note: I have a point-and-shoot camera. The ISO setting doesn't work very well.

A new library opened closer to our house about two weeks ago. It is so nice there I am starting to become a regular. It has a gas fireplace and is LED certified and has nice views of trees and lots of natural light. I bring our new notebook there and write and read. I'm looking forward to school starting soon because the library is getting a bit loud. I spent a few hours there last week and this was my view.

On Tuesday I got my hair cut and colored and wandered around NW 23rd Ave area after my appointment. If I had billions of dollars I would have a house there. It's so pretty and peaceful and I love the old homes. This was the front of a house that was for sale for a mere $800K.

Grendel took advantage of the broken board in the fence and hopped into our neighbors yard. He stood still for a second and I took his picture.

And finally, we got a bit of cabin fever on Christmas so I started an Alice in Wonderland picture project staring Oktoberfest Barbie and a few of our stuffies. I'll post all the pictures once I have everything written and photos edited. Here's a preview:
